Great post, indeed. I'm ready to run through a wall. And I agree wholeheartedly: this is still Michigan we are talking about: not Nebraska, FSU, or any other teams that have fallen upon hard times. One season does not constitute a "downward spiral," nor does one loss to MS-fucking-U constitute inferiority to little brother. And I'm still "in" for 9-3 with a victory over OSU.

Here here! I'm glad to hear from a segment of the fanbase that I can better identify with than those who are 'less than enthusiastic', to say the least. A large percentage of Michigan fans seem to have been spoiled by a long run of relatively successful seasons and are ready to jump of a cliff after 1 bad season (and likely another mediocre one this year, I'm realistic). To everyone puking and mewling about RR's character and acting like we have sold our soul or made some kind of deal with Satan that involves selling out the character of the program, relax. Nothing that has occurred is anything new to Michigan or NCAA football. Kids get in trouble. No one was calling for Lloyd's head when Harrison or Carson Butler proved to be lacking a bit of character. Coaching changes, especially ones that involve radical changes in philosophy, necessitate attrition from players. There is plenty of evidence that RR is maintaining and perhaps enhancing the integrity of the program you love. Look at the character of the remaining players and their constant verbalization of the family/team environment. Look at the higher grade point average. Look at the mobilization of support for Mealer and his family through their ordeal. Look at honoring the scholarship offer for a recruit who was injured for most of his senior year and a large ?? in terms of potential when other teams dropped him. Transition is a bumpy process, but let RR do his job and please stop placing every single tiny event/occurrence under a microscope and acting like it is a definitive indicator of character. Do not be so quick to judge and join in with media entities/personalities that are pandering to those that would not wish to see this team succeed. Be objective and look at the big picture. When you scrutinize and criticize each and every tiny little occurrence/decision/whatever, you are only feeding into that cycle. All of us have taken a lot of enjoyment, pride and entertainment from this team, the coaches and the players, over the years. It is time to give back. They need us and our support now. Stand up. Yell. Support the players and let them know you are behind them. To anyone that boo-ed the team last year, stay at home this year and please don't come back until we are winning again and you can jump on the bandwagon again because doing that to a group of kids on the field giving it their all is nothing short of reprehensible. You suck, go home. In short, to paraphrase a quote that I think is more appropro for our society as a whole in these times than when it was first spoken. 'Ask not what your Wolverines can do for you, but what you can do for your Wolverines'
