Bluestreak hasn't been maintaining the 2014 offer list so I've updated it. I used Rivals offer list along with TTB and the old 2014 list to compile this chart, making some judgment calls along the way. In some cases, I moved players to the positions they were offered at by Michigan's staff. (with the exception of Bo Scarbrough who was offered as a WR.) Michigan has verbally offered 85 players. The distribution is as follows:

QB: 1

RB: 8

WR: 13

TE: 4

OL: 18

DE: 7

DT: 4

LB: 12

CB: 9

S: 6

ATH: 3

In-State Players of Interest:

DT Kenneth Finley 6'3" 265 lbs. Muskegon HS

CB Jalen Watts-Jackson 6' 173 lbs. Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep

LB William White 6'1" 215 lbs. Detroit Cass Tech HS

RB/LB Gary Hosey 6' 230 lbs. Detroit Cass Tech HS

QB Tyler Wiegers 6'4" 190 lbs. Detroit Country Day

DT Jake Khoury 6'3 268 lbs. St. Francis Catholic HS

RB Lorenzo Collins 6' 210 lbs. FH Harrison HS (MSU lean)

WR Brandon Walker 6'2" 185 lbs. Carman-Ainsworth HS

OT Ka'John Armstrong 6'5" 272 lbs. Detroit Loyola HS

OG Derek Brown 6'4" 295 lbs. Yale HS

OT Curtis Doyle 6'6" 270 lbs. Alma HS

ATH Avonte Maddox Detroit King HS

S Jared Wangler De La Salle Collegiate HS Warren, MI

Unfortunately

I don't think Bo is going out of state. Not based on anything other than being in Saban's back yard (my phone autocorrected Saban to Satan. My phone is smart.)

Thanks for doing that.  Wow,

Thanks for doing that.  Wow, Michigan is not letting up on the OL recruiting even after two stellar classes.

PS: Mods, is there any way that this could be moved to the "Useful Stuff" tab so that it can be easy to find and edited by those interested?

Hoke can't recruit long snappers. It's so frustrating.

Buckle up

We should have all of these kids signed in the next month. WTF is going on? I really am not being sarcastic here. I can't keep up with all of these good commits. Rich Rod please come back so I don't have to pay attention again. I miss when we didn't have good recruits and I could live my life. #exhausted

Thanks

Thanks for the hard work on this post.  Also, why on earth would the user known as

*****"Dion"*****

neg this post?  It's not like it took the OP two minutes to type an opinion.  I know mgopoints don't matter, and the OP would never mention his own, but this is just mean and childish.

If it kept *****Dion***** from kicking his dog this morning, I guess it's a good thing.

Haha

No worries... I'm not even sure what all this arrow stuff is all about anyway. I only just changed user classes at 100 a few days ago. All I care is that I can use the blog when all hell breaks loose. Nothing worse than coming home from the game and being unable to post Kate Upton videos.

No QBs

Any idea why the coaches haven't extended any offers to QBs for 2014? Seeing how we'd already locked down our 2013 QB by this time last year...

Careful evaluation...

There are several prospects on their radar. Deshone Kizer and Chance Stewart seem to be our top targets. Because of their differing skillsets, I'd love both but Stewart is the likely first offer as a 6'6" pocket passer from Michigan. He's hoping to earn an offer at camp. I think it's best that Borges and Hoke heavily vet the QB offers. True field generals don't come a dime a dozen.

Edit: The coaches have also dropped in on Jeremy Holley (OH) and Luke Ward (TN). Holley plans to attend camp. Brent Lyles (OH) visited back in April and plans to camp. Ricardo Johnson (MN) visited in April and an offer would be a "dream come true." Chandler Kincade (PA) committed to Pitt's old staff so the coaching staff should continue pursuing him. He visited when Kugler committed, although they were not acquainted previously.

Can we all please just take a second to recognize how huge Orlando Brown is. 6'9, 375 lbs and he's 16?

I honestly think,...

he's quite the gamble. Pad level and weight concerns immediately come to mind. I'm not a college talent evaluator but he looks slow on camp film compared to comparable defensive talent.

With that type of width and

With that type of width and wingspan, quickness is slightly less important, but it would seem to be worrisome. Leverage is obviously going to be a big issue, but if he does harness that size, look out.

Very true, and that goes beyond sports related injuries. 400 is too damn big for anyone, let alone a kid with his whole life ahead of him.

Hoke has been heavily recruiting MI and OH in 2012 and 2013. This 2014 offer board looks to be a start of a very different pattern.

It isn't...

It's exactly the same as last year. The earliest offers are going out of state because getting in early is the best way to attract players from outside the pipeline.

Damon Webb got his offer!

I'm really excited about this offer. A true two way threat. I've seen him listed at 6'0" before. If he does end up growing a bit I have no doubt that we'll start making some lofty comparisons in the YRMFSPA section. Somebody has to wear #2...

Timeline...

When did you start paying attention to 2013 offers? There weren't many Ohio offers out at this time last year either.

Wilton Speight is now on the

Wilton Speight is now on the ESPN 150 Watch List. It includes 13 pro style QBs. Last year, Shane Morris was ranked as the 8th best pro-qb for a reference.

Since he made the UA game, I'm thinking he's getting noticed and his rankings will move up on all Websites, and ESPN's initial rankings will have him as a 4*.
