2010 Schedule Wallpaper - Wolverine vs. Falcon - Game 4 Bowling Green

Submitted by monuMental on

This one was fun; a little more subtle than the wallpapers for the first three games. It is hard to create an image that communicates distaste for an opponent for whom I do not harbor distaste. My solution? A mascot vs. mascot throwdown. I like how the wolverine looks more interested in sharpening his teeth than in his friend the falcon (or what's left of him).

The image below is a preview only. You can get this week's widescreen, 4:3, iPad and mobile wallpapers at The Art. The Art. The Art!.

2010 Game 4 Wallpaper Preview

Thanks...

...to everyone who has downloaded and commented on the wallpapers. Now that I'm caught up with Diaries for the first 4 games (and in the wake of the insane Denard Action Figure project) I'll take a breath and move into a once-weekly posting schedule. As long as the mods are OK with me using Diaries to introduce the wallpapers I'll continue do so every Monday. Either way, you can get a new wallpaper at www.wearetrue.com/goblue every Monday for the rest of the season. I really hope that I have a reason to design a bowl game wallpaper this year too.

I couldn't resist the Braveheart reference...the original "that's what she said" line. The wallpapers usually take 3 to 4 hours each to create, but the Touchdown Jesus from week 2 took much longer (8 hours) and I am embarassed to admit how much time I spent on the Denard action figure. Let's just say that it's good that I gave up cable tv and a few other things before the football season or I would not have slept at all last week. Also, my wife and kids love these so that helps (as does the fact that I find time to work on them during naps or when everyone is busy doing other things). I do have a rule that I will only work on these during times when I'd otherwise be doing other "time wasting" activities.

the incredible quality of the blogosphere I get to call home.  I mentioned how much wit, intelligence and production value is on this site.  She seemed to believe me, but didn't really know what I was talking about.  So I showed her your DRob figure.

Picture is worth a thousand words.

Strong work again with the wallpaper.

Finding out the new wallpaper has definitely been the highlight of my Mondays for the past couple of weeks.  My ND co-worker grudgingly complimented the No-Good Jesus and my Penn. St. coworker can't wait to see what you come up with in a month or so...

Great job, keep up the awesome work.
