The o-line went from very bad to serviceable last year. We're probably going to have at least one starting tackle who has never seen the field in college. We have some depth now and hopefully they stay healthy. But how good can we expect the o-line to be next year? Here are some choices: Very bad, bad, decent, good, very good, great, out-fucking-standing. I'm going with good. Your thoughts...
Will the O-line be great this season?
....because as McFarlin always says....
TATE OWNS SHIT.
Just to clear things up - by next year, do you mean this coming season? Because when I think next year, I think 2010. I think this year they will be good, but I think next year they could be great. We will be returning the better guys on the line (Molk, Schilling, whoever the mystery OT is) and replacing the departing linemen with our stud young guys, whoever earn the spot. I think that could be a great OL.
My bad. Also, excellent has been replaced with great. They're actually having me do shit at work lately so I have to post very quickly or not at all. It sucks. Damn corporations...acting all corporationy.
"Great" wasn't an option.
I'll go with "very good." Even though Huyge/Omameh haven't seen the field, the competition is much stronger this year. I think our run blocking will be excellent and we have the ability to be good at pass blocking. Offensively, I think the line will be our biggest strength.
What about the other side of the line. As of now we expect Ortmann to hold down the LT spot, correct? How was his play last year and how much can we expect him to improve?
...was better than Schilling last year, from what I saw. Not that it means much, since Schilling moved to guard. I don't know that Ortmann will improve astronomically since he'll be a fifth year senior, but I would expect him to improve somewhat, considering it's his second year in the S&C program and his second year in this offense. I said before last year that I thought Ortmann was going to be pretty good before he left, so I'm going to stick with that projection, even if it turns out to be wrong.
It's in your subject line, but not a choice in your list. WTF?!
-1 for misleading subject.
Also, I pick "Serviceable."
The O-Line will be "better."
It best be better, if not.....
The Line stands to be much much better and IMHO, as the O-Line goes so goes this team, Offensively and Defensively.
When I said that I loved you, you said you better - you better, you better, you bet.
el quality song o
Or I will cut you..just like a knife.
Theyll be the best in the whole wide world.
How many are seniors going into 09 season, cant we even return most for 2010?
We'll lose Ortmann and Moosman after 2009. Schilling and Dorrestein will be redshirt juniors, so they could potentially leave (although I think Schilling will stay, at the very least). Molk and Huyge each have three years left.
Hopefully Ricky Barnum and Hugye/Ommameh (whichever doesnt start this year) can step in immediately. People have been so high on Barnum and Ommameh for so long
Also, by 2010 one of the 3 from this last class will be RS freshmen, and since they all have stud potential, there is a chance that one of them can secure a starting spot.
Like, Quinton Washington.
good this season. 2011,I expect greatness.
I think they will be pretty not bad. Especially Schilling, he is downright COCKY.
the ability to scramble will make the oline look even better. So I say " very good ".
