I'm sure we're a long shot and all, but given that Scout is reporting about his visit and how much he allegedly liked us, shouldn't we have SOME kind of interest level?
Why isn't Michigan listed for Seantrel Henderson on Scout?
...you feel any different if Michigan were listed? We're one school of about 119 that are recruiting the kid. I'm sure we don't need to have any concern about his recruitment at this point.
However, I suppose the point was more along the lines of how those lists are maintained. Do the recruits say "I want xyz schools listed and I'm very interested in x & y" or do the services just divine it out for themselves?
I suppose that it would also make me feel like we were in the running at all. The difference between having a lottery ticket and not I guess. Having a lottery ticket doesn't mean you're even close to winning, but at least you have a freaking ticket.
....that's an interesting point to which I don't know the answer. Perhaps there is bias in the compilation of those posts - the beat writer for a school promotes his school by proclaiming the top recruits have interest. Maybe the Michigan beat writer hasn't provided input for a certain recruit - perhaps a Scout worker doesn't want Seantrel to give the impression he's interested in Michigan so he conveniently decides not to put an "interest" marker in Michigan there. That's a conspiracy theory, for sure, but maybe it happens. Maybe Saban or Miles has a Scout insider who manipulates "interest levels" in order for Saban and Miles to talk to other recruits and say "hey, look, recruit X is highly interested too. Why don't you play here with that guy?"
This is all speculation but I wouldn't be shocked if such games are played.
As to your second paragraph, only Seantrel knows who has the lottery tickets. Michigan probably has one. Now we just have to wait until February 2010.
Both sites are pretty lax with "schools of interest" and "offers".
FWIW, Rivals has Michigan on there for him.
I think Scout is way laxer than Rivals. Rivals schools of interest are a clear two or three steps ahead of both Scout's list and ESPN's list, neither of which are particularly dependable.
From what early reports have indicated, we might not be as much of a long shot to land Henderson as you think
they also dont have lattimore listed
Scout is absolutely is horrible about updating offer lists and interest in schools. Not sure why people keep bringing these issues up.
It's just to annoy you. We have secret meetings and take turns.
Just wait til we start whining about M-Rob...
Wait, what? We're already doing that? Shit, this is what I get for missing last weeks meeting.
have nothing on the meetings held by the Grand Society For Misabuse of Grammar, abolition of capitalization, And Use Of Bad Speling held for the purposes of defiance of the grammar police.
It all sounds great, but wouldn't those be meatings?
about as often as they update their top 100 lists.
