I am perfectly relaxed. What am I doing that is bothering you? (honest question)
missouri. don't they lose chase daniel and jeremy maclin?
No question. They might combine for 3 wins this year. You are taking the guy who turned Pat White, Noel Devine, and 5 returning o-line starters into what, 8-5? I don't wanna look it up now, and you are asking him to guide a team replacing Pat White and 5 Offensive lineman, in addition to everyone else having a year of his coaching under their belt.
Auburn is easy. The only thing more uninspiring than their play last year was their coaching hire, Gene Chizik. Looking at their schedule, there aren't that many games that look pretty for the Tigers. There is a later date against Furman, maybe Georgia is a little down next year, Ball state is in the Mac, and Lane Kiffin might just suck as a head coach. The best game of all on their schedule is their first game, which, hilariously, is West Virginia!
I have to agree with WVU. Did they even have anyone else taking snaps at QB this year? Pat White is gone. It's rare to successfully replace a dual-threat guy in a zone-read spread option with immediate success. That aside, Bill Stewart has already shown that his teams lack an offensive identity as a coach. Either they're going to unsuccessfully try to continue running occsaional zone-read plays interspersed with pro-style looks, or just drop the zone-read stuff altogether with inferior talent to run it.
you need to find a long list of ingredients:
1.) coaching change?
2.) offensive philosophy change?
3.) player conditioning change?
4.) questioning of coaches family values?
5.) Have 8 to 10 players with eligibility left either leave the football program or go to the NFL.
6.) 2 starters returning on offense (Schilling, Mathews) that finished 9th in the league year prior
7.) 5 starters on a defense that finished 7th in the league year prior.
8.) No starting experience at QB 4 deep into the roster.
9.) No starting experience at 4 positions on OL 3 deep into roster.
Yeah, that just about covers it. Maybe I'm missing something.
We returned more than five starters on D. It was like seven or eight. Going into the year, people thought that our D would keep us in a lot of low-scoring games. Whoops.
Pryors horrible deep bloopers were funny this year. He got lucky every time. He had upperclassmen catching those throws too. I wonder if underclassmen next yr can do the same?
