just curious in seeing which Michigan man/potential Michigan man will have an increase in their position and star ranking by the time high school football starts.
at least it's not just us?
DJ Williamson, and hopefully Drew Dileo will move up
Williamson for sure, and I think Stephen Hopkins has a really good chance. The kid plays in the toughest division in Texas and has been a workhorse the last few years. We'll see!
I would love to see Drew Dileo pick up a 5th star. Hopefully that wouldn't cause him to decommit.
Drew Dileo's star ranking is maxed out, I think.
By default, I would think DJ Williamson's has the most potential to improve. Right now he's a 0-star but will probably be a 3-star by the end of the cycle.
He is the 13th best CB according to scouts but only has a three star with scouts and rivals. Seems to me like he is set up to get that four star by the time football comes around.
i like rb tony drake. he's super fast and not too big--like vince smith, whom everyone loves after spring ball.
He's not that fast. He just has good acceleration.
i don't know him personally, just what i've read about him (i.e. 4.35 40)
hope he gains some wieght, and with that an extra star then becomes the next Lavar Arrington.
All our four stars will end up five stars, all our three stars will end up four stars, and all our zero stars will end up as three stars. Don't ask me how I know this, but I just do, it's a gift.
Brad Lawing!?! I didn't think you visited MGoBlog! Nor did I ever expect a South Carolina coach to help Michigan, but thanks!
More seriously, I'd go with Williamson or Jackson. I think we have to accept that neither Gardner nor Miller will get their fifth star. I feel like both Williamson and Jackson are worthy of 4 stars. Jackson is hindered, however, by playing in a bad area for football, so if I had to go with only one I'd go with Williamson.
I would be shocked if Williamson got 4 stars.
Hmm.... Well, I think T Wilson will climb pretty high. Not sure he's going to MI but I think he's still unranked. He could be a 4* IMO.
is he unranked? he's already highly ranked on rivals
Scout. I hadn't even been on Rivals in months. Is he by chance a 4* on there? :)
This sort of speculation strikes me as funny. Rather than as an indication of players' potential for future contributions, star ratings get treated as ends in themselves. If you're convinced that a guy has the ability to be a player, what does it matter how many stars Rivals decides to put after his name? Unless you take the ratings to be a more-or-less objective measure of a player's demonstrated potential, and you're just rooting for that player to demonstrate more, this fixation with ratings doesn't seem to make much sense. Not that I don't get a boner over some dude getting an extra star, too; I'm just saying it's weird.
I think he picks up a 5th star.
What about Marvin Robinson? His video is sick, he likes to hit guys real hard. Any chance he picks up the 5th star?
how many stars does ricardo miller have currently ? i recall six months ago he was discussed as top ten in country, and now i dont think hes even ranked top 100.
Obviously Williamson will rise in the rankings, but I think that the player that moves up the rankings the most will be Jeremy Jackson. The reason I say that is because teams will not be able to double team him anymore with Ricardo Miller on the field with him. My guess is opposing coaches will focus more on Ricardo than they will Jackson. Allowing him a breakout year and a rise in the rankings.
Re: the title of this thread, you could have just said "his position." Football is not a coed sport.
The nittiest of the picky. That never even crossed my mind.
whose rankings don't match their offers..That's a good place to start in this discussion
