I know they just got on board on the 24th, but I was hoping for more from them. There were the updates from Big 10 media days, a baseball "where are they now" sort of thing, and then nothing much. When will they start posting more regularly?
Where are the VB guys?
post on MGOBLOG.... it's from Tim at VB
2 things today actually.
where did you see the "movin and shakin" story posted? It's not on the front page and it has 0 comments, which is odd. I just want to make sure I am not missing a feature or tab.
Which I guess this begs the question, why is it only appearing there?
And yes I never thought to check there, but I guess I will now.
And Thank you.
The "Stuck in Neutral" story was in the same sort of limbo for a little bit earlier today, before it was promoted to the front page. I'm guessing they're just waiting to space things out and let each story have a decent amount of time at the top of the home page.
yes it was, i didn't see either when i posted this...
Interesting. I wonder if they wanted people directed to it or just forgot to get it published to the front page somehow?
It says on the link here that it was posted July 31st... maybe just some random mishap.
that's a bug. it's supposed to be in a drafts queue but the desktop publishing software marks everything "published" when you hit the button and so it shows in the tracker. it will go up tomorrow.
I guess this is why is pays to take 10 seconds and look at who is posting?
TimVB cannot mean Tim from Varsity Blue. Its Tim Very Beautiful, he has a high regard of himself. Duh!
So, I'm with ya, where the hell is Tim from Varsity Blue?
FA will be posting approximately biweekly in the baseball offseason and more regularly when baseball is actually going. Paul is focusing more on video projects and the occasional non-revenue sports post, and we're transitioning Tim into more consistent posting as we get going. I'm doing the Tuesday recruiting this week by from that point on I'll hand that off and concentrate on other stuff.
I are officially concerned that Brian is not handling the transition well. I think he should have hired writers who understand the MGo Traditions.
Tim and Paul don't realize this isn't Varsity Blue anymore. They don't understand how MGoPosting works.
Does that mean they'll be embedding RAWK midis with every post? Dammit.
Spreading the posting won't work on this site. It only works in smaller blog communities and is a gimmick. Plus, I heard they deleted the post database at the old website before they left.
Why are mommy and daddy fighting?
Babby Boren stole our values, and Wermers the only other "man in the house" didn't like the new kids and split. Total mayhem ensues.
I didn't address this in the other thread, but I wanted to mention that the video popup you worked out looks absolutely amazing, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it utilized in the UFRs.
AFA the VB guys' input, I'm sure it is just in a transitional phase and will pick up, but I must say that the marginal reduction in absolute number of quality Michigan Football blog posts has been too bad!
Since it seems like it will be tough for you (Brian) to get through your own set at this point, I would humbly suggest re-posting VB's opponent preview series from earlier in the summer to expose them to the broader MGoBlog community. They were definitely high quality content and I think they are worth re-posting given the dearth of other items to cover over the next month...
I'm sort of hoping that all of the old VB stuff gets brought over here so that it doesn't just die and get lost when the site gets completely shut down (on the server side that is).
Any chance that [pulling all the old VB posts over here] might happen?
Doubt it, but the site will probably stay up (their blogspot site stayed up when they transfered).
Paul hosts the site, and if they don't renew their domain name, there's still a decent chance he might keep an archived version of it on his site.
I expected great things here. Now, I can only say...Not Good Enough.
whats gunna happen to the VB recruiting board... it was interesting to look at that board to see who was offered and whatnot. Is it going to be brought over here?
I remember something about the 2011 VB recruiting board being almost done and that would be a nice addition to this site.
I am pathetic. I saw VB and thought visual basic. I need a new career.
