WHAT is the deal with stonum? obviously he got into some type of trouble. I completely making an assumption, but perhaps he wen't out after the wisco game and celebrated extremely hard, which involved lots of booze and young freshmen coeds. can someone back in aa or who knows anything about this fill us in on what happened?
What's the deal with Stonum?
Someone said in an earlier thread that he had a DUI, or suggested it with a reference to Grady. There hasn't been any official confirmation.
...that he was responsible for the Lehman Brothers collapse. Historical precedent on player suspensions after driving a 100 year investment banking firm into the ground is spotty, but expect 1-2 games.
rich rod: "god damnit! what were you thinking? they're selling for goddamn pennies on the dollar son. you make me absolutely sick. that's it, you have as much chance of playing this week as david cone has of running my offense. or any."
Anytime I hear "violation of team rules" I laugh because it usually means "he did something not criminal but really embarrassing." I always assume it's like "he peed in the Gatorade coolers" or "he put Tiger Balm in everyone's jockstrap" or "he streaked the practice facility" or...whatever. You get the idea.
I haven't heard anything, but my guess would be he skipped/slept through a mandatory team meeting or workout.
Edit: I doubt it was a DUI or anything criminal because that information would be publicly available.
My guess is he asked Coach Rod why Antonio Bass isn't getting more reps at QB in practice
That is the comment of the day. Hats off sir.
but prior to that he showed that he could not run precise, timed routes or block. He has been very disappointing.
I find this post very disappointing. Boooo. Boooo. No one on the team runs precise, timed routes or blocks. He's also been WIDE open on critical throws where Threet has missed him horribly. Stop singling out players for vague, made up criticism when their are several team wide problems.
"He screwed up" is my favorite explanation. No shit.
In general, I prefer to avoid speculating on what a kid did wrong - which is why I love the "he screwed up". It is, unvariably, true.
It was a DUI, again, if you want to take my word for it. There's a more elaborate story that explains how he got it, but I don't want to rehash it for privacy reasons (even though I may have violated the privacy thing anyway just by saying that).
(and I'm not saying that it's not, just keeping it hypothetical), the fact that it wasn't front page news in the Snooze is a sign of just how distracted by coursework Carty was.
