This is piggy-backing off a comment from the "Would someone please explain conditional offers" thread.
Does anyone know what the high school coach's role is when it comes to recruiting? We hear much ado about "pipelines" and the reputation of certain high school coaches for pushing recruits to school X or school Y, but how does a college coach actually forge a relationship with a high school coach?
I assume that the lead recruiter calls the high school coach for an opinion or general impressions on a player, but beyond that, I do not know exactly how the high school coach factors into the equation (beyond the advice that he gives to the recruit directly).
Can anyone shed some light on this?
