With Georgetown and Cincy losing to Big East bottom dwellers it was a bad night for bubble teams. Also Maryland lost to WF. I don't know what to make of the Kan St vs Ok St. game but you know what happened. Bubble teams seem to keep losing. We handle our business now
What a night for the bubble
This was the only win that really hurt us
Maryland losing is big but they were supposed to lose that game, and they lost it real close. We lost to Maryland and therefore can't afford any kind of comparison with them - have to be better than them outright. IMO this is a touch more important than the Cincys and New Mexicos of the world because of the clearcut head to head comparison.
Therefore I'm sure I can count on everyone's support for Saturday's UVA-Twerps game, yes? ;)
that you and Other Chris, as resident Wahoos, should host a live blog of that game once Michigan tucks away the Gophers Saturday afternoon.
Is that easy to do? I use Blogger for my blog because it's retard-friendly and my programming/writing/technical abilities are practically nonexistent. Can Cover It Live be just dropped whole hog into a Blogger post or otherwise done with minimal learning on my part (since that game is three days away?)
I know it's a bit off topic, but the Missouri Valley Conference tourney is one that deserves attention. Creighton is the only team that will warrant an at large birth, but I think they're going to have tough time with their semi-final opponent, Illinois State. If ISU knocks them off in the semis, I think Creighton is done, but if they make it to the title game against the co-champ, Northern Iowa, and lose a close one, I think they're still in the tourney. As UM fans, we need the Blue Jays to either bow out early or win the MVC tourney title.
By the way, the MVC Tournament starts this Thursday and concludes Sunday.
Very accurate statement.
Technically, Creighton is the #2 seed in the MVC which is good because the top seed hisotrically loses out early.
That could be a loophole, of sorts, in this assessment. Say, NIU follows history and bows out early in the tourney.
Does Creighton get value by losing the finals to a mediocre Evansville or Southern Illinois, as opposed to losing that game to NIU? I dont think so.
Other than that scenario, I think you're dead on about Creighton and how their progression in the MVC field could alter the bubble.
It won't matter if we lose to the Gophers. If we do lose, we'd at least have to get the B10 finals; maybe even win it all.
i'll eat my hat. they have like 15 wins.
Tonight we cheer for Georgia, Miss St., Colorado and Memphis.
EDIT: and NC State.
