I watched this live and was convinced they were on some 5 second delay and this was some weird "dump button" effect they had to go to because Dabo cursed. It appears that was not the case. Totally bizarre.

That is EXACTLY what I speculated ...we're sitting and watching the game live and enjoying notre dame losing and suddenly ESPNsucks cuts to the studio.  The room was like WTF?!

I figured Dabo dropped an empassioned F-Bomb or maybe that someone in the mob behind him had done something and he got dumped.

Nope.  Just Touchdown Jesus

Dabo did something far, far worse.  Something that ESPN felt their viewers needed to be protected from hearing so they cut to the studio to keep him off the air.

He said the "G" word.  And he said it right out loud for everyone to hear like it was ok for someone to do that.  IN POLITE SOCIETY HE SAID IT LIVE ON THE AIR!!!

It was no "accident".  Man up and own up WWL.  You cut him off cause he said the "G" word - nothing more, nothing less.  It's your station so you can chose to broadcast whatever you want people to hear but please don't insult our intellegence with claims otherwise.

I dont get it - sportscenter cut away to the same people doing the same thing in the studio in the way older Cal game that they did in Dabo's speach this weekend? Sorta confusing.

In the old, pre-Disney days, I'd bet that ESPN would have a self-mocking commercial up in a matter of days about this.  It was (probably) an honest mistake, after all.  Now?  We'll probably be treated to several days of evasion and blaming.

As much as Clemson did everything they could to give this game to ND but for the money play of Ben Boulware, I found Dabo's post-game speech oddly out of place, as he only had Boulware to thank for the interruption of total choke job.

Still, I felt his passion, and of course, reveled in the ND loss.

Very symbolic that ESPN cuts for no reason to two talking heads playing with their I-pads or Surfaces or whatever.  Creepy

If you were a Michigan fan pre-Rich Rod you absolutely can believe a team going into a shell and letting the other team back in it.

Hell, Tennessee has blown 3 double digit leads this year, something that wasn't uncommon 'round these parts when DeBord ran our offense as he does there. Remember that old crazy stat how we were more likely to win if we were down a TD entering the 4th rather than up a TD?

They still cover college football like it's just a way to kill time until the NFL games come on Sunday, which is really what they care about.

NBC is the absolute worst.  A Notre Dame halftime is half-filled with commercials and them pimping upcoming NFL games.  You only get a small sliver of the CFB highlights that you would expect.

Watching it live was just amazing. Just as Dabo was getting into it and you started to feel it welling up, it cut away, to this confused old man sitting at a desk confounded about how to update his twitter feed on his touchy pad.

So somebody in the control room hit a wrong button/switch. What's the big deal? At least ESPN doesn't have Matt Millen doing color commentary.

I disagree.  Don't get me wrong... he is an absolute joke when it comes to being a GM.  However, I think he is one of the better CC guys out there.  There are times it's difficult because I'm thinking "Why the **** should I believe you when you say that guy is good?"  For the most part though, I think he does a good job.

He's no Spielman though... why it always pains me to say it, Speilman is the best CC in the biz right now.

You think it pains you to compliment Spielman? You can HEAR how much it pains HIM to compliment Michigan.

Which is as it should be, truth be told - journalistic objectivity should really only be expected to go SO far, Amirite?!

I love me some good ESPN hate. Simmons has been coming at them pretty hard since this past week, sounds like the WWL is not so different from the NFL when it comes to managerial incompetence.

On Steve Szaban's show this morning he mentioned that ESPN cut Swinney's segment short before he could thank baby Jesus for Clemson's win. In other words, another shot fired in the cuture wars.

I thought Swinney's bit was kinda funny because he mentioned all the things his footbawl players get (pregame meals, stipends, tutoring, etc) and seemed to stop short of thanking Clemson's famous bagmen.

Espn and sportscenter are a joke now.  All it is people guessing what is going to happen in the next game.  I remember as a young boy how I could watch sportscenter and see highlights of games. That was nice I miss those days.
