Warren Leaning "Heavily" Towards Leaving
The delightful news keeps coming:
Warren, a third-year junior who led Michigan with 4 interceptions this year, has filed paperwork to ask the NFL's underclass advisory committee for his draft status.
He said Thursday their input will play into his decision, but turning pro is "just something that I believe it's just for me."
"I'm definitely, I'd have to say heavily, I like the chances of me coming out," Warren said at Michigan's annual football bust.
Lame.
BONUS: Vincent Smith's ACL was torn against Ohio State. He'll miss spring practice and may be touchy going into the fall according to someone close to the situation.
No kittens??
Looks like Mike Shaw will be the starting RB with Mike Cox, Fitzgerald Toussaint battling out to get some share of carries. People forget that the coaching staff likes Fitzgerald a lot better than Vincent Smith coming out of HS. He's one player to watch out for in spring practice.
Did the coaches say something? It would be highly unusual if they did.
Why God, why.
LAME!
Can he say "eff this" and come back for his senior year?
to withdraw your name - if you don't do it by that point, your college career is over.
No, but he can share a dirty apartment with Ernie Shazor.
Damn How I miss his play.
ACL go in 3 ways, 1 = 6 months 2 = 1mm is failure 3 = He chose a very good university.
Agreed man. That story warms the heart.
Makes me feel like a whiny little bitch. Dude has some serious inner strength.
FML.
So far, the shit that has shat on Michigan appears to be:
FOOTBALL:
David Molk: Foot Break followed by ACL Injury
Brandon Minor: Persistent Ankle Sprain followed by Shoulder Injury
Vincent Smith: ACL Injury
Tate Forcier: Concussion
HOCKEY:
Robbie Czarnik: Departure for OHL
Jack Campbell: Decommit for OHL
BASKETBALL:
Ben Cronin: ACL Recovery and Broken Hand
Manny Harris: Hamstring Issues
What am I missing?
about Carlos Brown: concussion, tendinitis, I'm sure their were other ailments
Don't forget Forcier's shoulder. I think that hampered him more than was let on since the IU game.
I shall now commence hibernating for the winter.
FML.
Czarnik was addition by subtraction. He didn't want to play at Michigan, but was negative and a drag to all the other players. Let him take his Eyore act to Plymouth, where they'll cut his azz for dogging it, not back checking, complaining and not scoring.
Campbell played Red and played the system. If the kid is that good, he'll play in the NHL in two years. History suggests otherwise, but hey, he sold out, so screw him.
Don't count this team out, they still can make a run. I like the 2010 class, too.
Time to head to liquor store to pick up that bottle of booze to ease the pain...
Picked a bad time to give up quaaludes
The only thing worse would be to hear they are bringing Tom Goss back as AD.
was the original horror.
Unfuckingbelievable. Sort of saw the Warren thing coming, but Smith with a torn acl? Awesome just great
If there was 1 position we had/have depth it is at RB. We could conceivably be losing our top 3 RBs. Shaw can pick up the slack, Fitz we haven't seen and Cox can run hard. Drake may even step in. (Someone with more knowledge chime in if I'm right or wrong.)
Fitz will show up big. I seent it in my dreams. I SEENT IT!!!
Considering this isn't even a post-football Monday (which I hate even saying, but it's sort of true) this was definitely a black day on Mgoblog. I'd like to petition this blog to post only kittens tomorrow. I need something to lift my spirits before the weekend.
I second your petition. Kittens are needed to intervene and perhaps lead the football gods to smile on us again.
Or at least stop with all this bad news.
kittens would be nice.
He needs to sweet talk and sugar coat all the reasons Warren should stay, bust out the wizard hat and talk him off the ledge. Maybe play Warren the famous "THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM" sound bite a few times. Or a dozen.
Smith with the ACL is just the salt in the wound at this point.
-Entire hockey team has mono
-Zoltan was academically ineligible, voiding all Michigan wins this year
-There's still games to be played in the basketball season
If this winter keeps up the blog's gonna have more kittens than icanhascheezburger
that last bit is definitely sig-worthy
Angry Michigan Runningback Hating God strikes again!
you were able to find an actual picture of the "Angry Michigan Running Back Hating God."
if he leaves despite not being a 1st round pick, that isn't an especially good sign that Warren was super into being coached by Rich.
...more importantly, Gibson.
his relationship with his position coach is probably more important.
There was chatter about him being fed up last year. Compound it with this year and well... There's only so much losing a good player can take. I think this has more to do with wanting out than the CBA or anything else.
He better pray he doesn't go to the Lions.
expected to deal with when he signed for Lloyd.
Bingo.
The only website I've seen that on was the one posted somewhere around here that essentially looked like somebody's crazy uncle made the thing with GeoCities. If he gets picked in the first round (crazy uncle had him at #14), I'll eat my hat. And anybody else's hat.
+1 for GeoCities
the NFL wanting a rookie salary cap put into the next CBA (which is going into negotiations this year) than anything to do with RRod.
Even at 5th or 6th round he probably would make more money than if he went 2nd or 3rd with a salary cap in place.
Worth the risk, if you ask me.
Underclassmen that would have been on the fence any other year are going to come out this year.
It's addition by subtraction for us.
It's not good for us, but it's worse for a lot of other schools. This should hurt some of our big competitors more than us.
Absolutely have to agree with you on the coaching staff being a contributing factor.
DW signed up for Lloyd Carr, Ron English, et al, and will have stuck it out for 2/3 of his college career under a different staff (and concurrently during the worst 3 year stretch at Michigan in recent memory). Good luck to him if he jumps.
He WAS messin around!
It has become apparent that it is Angry Michigan FAN Hating God.
Brian has just put on "The Big Lebowski." I suggest we all do likewise.
Warren will be the only "unexpected" departure
