Personally, I'm pulling for Sheridan much in the way I pulled for Kirkus at WR when he was a Lion. Historically, we have had other QBs who worked hard, improved and helped lead the team to something great. The most obvious is probably Griese, who was a walk on his freshman year, unrecruited for his weak arm I know many de-value his QB skills, but his career speaks for itself; three victories over OSU, rose bowl MVP, probowl, super bowl, etc.
Additionally for those who can remember, Harbaugh was told as a freshman that he only had a scholarship because his dad was a coach, and that he should not expect to see the field. Throwing out the crap he said later. . .(if you can). . . Harbaugh was a hell of a quarterback at Michigan. I think he led the nation in passer rating his Junior year.
If the D is as solid as reported, I see no reason to avoid optimism
