so you're saying we have a chance?
What was all that one-in-a-million talk?
a chance. Heck Utah went 13-0 and we have the same odds. I live in Vegas and I'm gonna bank on this! One can only dream..
Which is delicious. Must be all that in-state recruiting success.
Because as we all know, success is measured by preseason polls and speculation.
I said nothing about polls being relevant or important or nuthin'. The deliciousity comes from Sparty's rage at not being taken seriously even with their Super-Awesome-Coach-of-the-Century-Who-Is-Cleaning-Up-On-In-State-Recruiting-And MSU-IS-BACK-BABY!
USC has better odds than Florida? That's interesting. Hopefully RR has a 2nd season like some of the other elite coaches have had in the recent past.
So the odds go down as more people bet on them. Notre Dame has a larger pool of people willing to bet on them, so they're odds are significantly lower than both Michigan State and Utah even though Sparty is likely to be about as good as Notre Dame and Utah is likely to be better (even without Johnson et al).
While there might be some truth to that, it's also true that ND returns virtually its entire team, while MSU and Utah suffer some major losses. I expect ND to improve its record somewhat.
In the case of Hoyer at MSU I think it will be addition by subtraction. I know a lot of Spartan fans that agree. Ringer will be another problem but they also had some good blocking this year. Spartan fans have to be upset with those odds.
Of course Spartan fans think that - they're homers. Just like some of us thought we could duplicate 2007's 9-4 record with a vastly younger, less-talented team.
Hoyer was not a very good player, but in 2008 he did cut down on the mental mistakes he made regularly the previous year. Their next starter might have more raw talent, but with less experience, I'd expect him to also make more mistakes. And with their superstar RB gone, the new QB is going to have to make more plays than Hoyer had to.
correction: utah has exactly a 0-1 chance of winning the BCS. along with the rest of the mid-major teams. utah's non conference schedule is utah state, san jose state, at oregon, louisville. they have no shot of getting in the title game
changed their schedule to play USC, Mount Union (you need a cupcake), Oklahoma, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Texas, Flordia, Bosie State, Penn State, Mike Ditka, and the '72 Dolphins and went 12-0 the BCS will find a way to keep them out.
Why does nobody blame the AP?
Sorry, but it is.
