A) RR should not be fired (anyone who would fire a coach after 6 games would be an asshat!!)
B) Barring unforseen personal problems RR should get 3 probably 4 years.
But, upon reviewing the Wisconsin, Illinois, and Toledo UFR's (and play by plays). Here are the statistical facts:
All of the following are for first and second down only!!
First Half of W, M passed downfield only once -- offense sucked
Second half of W, 16 of first 22 plays M passed downfield -- offense moved the ball & scored
Illinois, good mix of pass/run in both halves. Offense moved ball & scored.
Toledo, 34 runs, 8 passes (except for TD series which was pass, run, pass, pass and last series which was pass, pass, pass, pass, run, pass) -- offense sucked
So, it does appear that the game plan for Toledo (incorrectly, in my opinion) went back to a high percentage of runs on first and second down even though the statistics indicate M must be balanced for the offense to function.
Therefore, in my opinion, based on statistics, the coaching needs to improve.
PS If the "check with the sideline on every play" isn't getting us out of bad plays on first and second down, what will??
