U of M Football Team's GPA

Hey, something positive and new about the program!

per rivals
U-M has confirmed that last year's team grade-point average is the highest in the past 20 years. It's also one of the best ever by the men who pull on the winged helmets.

"I know that Rich's football team made really significant strides in their team GPA," noted U-M Athletic Director Bill Martin. "It either is, or is very close to, the highest GPA in the recorded history of the football team. I'm very proud of that."

I wonder what Rodriguez's critics who talk shit about him being a coach with low class who wants thugs on his team are going to say about this. The article states that the new staff are putting more emphasis on grades than the previous one.

negative about RR, it seems to me like evidence comes out saying..not so fast my friend.

Paper Shreding: WVU fans and others call him Shredriguez. Turns out, he shreded his own papers when more were supposed to be on file elsewhere.

Buyout: Sounds in the end like Michigan itself was the one that was fighting that, not RR.

Family Values: Numerous players have spoken favorably about the family atmosphere.

Thug players: The team sports a very good GPA now.

In-state recruiting: RR has landed plenty of top in-state kids (not to mention great out-of-state ones)

but Barwis actually swiped in after and attached one of those squat machines to the crying girl. She needed to "man up" apparently, and stop crying. When she couldn't do it, he ate her.

My brother-in-law (you know, he coaches football) said that he went to a thing this one time and RR swore. Not just once either, but a couple times. Yeah, I love my brother-in-law and will always believe anything he says...always. He's awesome. If he wasn't busy banging my sister all the time, I'd try and get in on that.

It should be front and center at MGoBlue. There's already an article there today about B10 academic awards for UM athletes in general, and this should be a companion piece. I would think that Bill Martin would want this news to be shouted from the rooftops immediately, and restricting it to paid subscribers at Rivals doesn't get the job done at all. PR job FAIL.

RR has been getting far too much flack from people for claims that have never been substantiated, so it is great news to hear. Also, the Vlad piece on family values refutes those clowns as well.

No offense Irish, but it's kind of apples to oranges. Comparing GPA's across schools isn't always very accurate. Some schools have far stricter grading scales than others. The best way to compare would be to look at the average GPA at each school, and see how the football team compares to the average student.

For example, if the UM average is 3.10 (about what it was when I was there) and the football team's is also 3.1, and the ND average is 3.4 and the football team is 3.2, which team is actually doing better academically?
