Get your welp on:

There had been rumbles the last couple days to the effect that Battle would take a visit to Syracuse, who had been one of his presumed leaders along with Duke before his commitment to Michigan.

It's unclear at this point how open his recruitment is, but in general schools that suffer a decommit do not get the kid back. How Syracuse remains appealing after Jim Boeheim got blasted by the NCAA remains a bit of a mystery.

Michigan was very strong with AL SF Josh Langford before Battle committed on his official visit and will probably look to re-open serious contact with him immediately.

Give them a break, they're kids. And the commitment is just about the only power they have in the relationship between them and the NCAA schools. Once they sign, the power shifts entirely to the NCAA and the school.

That said, this sucks. I thought Battle was a done deal after everything he said in May. Must have someone in his camp who's actively trying to get him to switch.

So they don't sound like whiney bitches about victimless crimes? They don't seem incredibly presumptuous every time something bad happens to Michigan recruiting when they have no idea what the real story is?

Anyone whose knee jerk reaction to bad news is "cheaters!" needs to grow up.

In most cases, I agree, but look at this one in particular.  It's not like he decommitted to take a visit to Stanford.  Syracuse has made lots of news recently and not for oncourt heroics.  In this case, calling things fishy is probably warranted.

I wonder what Caused him to keep lines open with other coaches? I honesty don't think JB did anything "wrong". Hopefully we find a way to recover. Going to be difficult this is was good.

Evan Daniels had the huge mistake / typo in his tweet yesterday about Josh Langford visiting Michigan when it was really MSU. He corrected it immediately, but still, how trustworthy is this guy?
