this guy evidently hired to work for AD
Ht/Wt: 6'2"/185 lbs.
Location: Mona Shores High School – Muskegon, MI
Offers: Western Michigan
As the search for the next quarterback to be offered continues a new name has popped up in Tyree Jackson as he’s been in frequent touch with the coaches and attended the Indiana game on Saturday. He wasn’t able to contain his excitement when I asked him about the atmosphere.
It went really good! I had a great time! The fans were crazy! When I walked through the tunnel they were yelling my name and stuff. It really felt cool. It was awesome. (Laughs)
Tyree obviously enjoyed his arrival and tour of The Big House, but after the game he didn’t get to do much mingling as he had to leave pretty much right away. I asked him how his short visit with the coaches went.
I did get to talk to the coaches but not for very long because I had to leave. They said that they will be in touch with me soon and just for me to keep up what I’ve been doing. Coach Ferrigno might be back to see me. He came to see me once before my Muskegon game.
I didn’t talk with Tyree for long but it wasn’t necessary to get a feel for how much he’s digging Michigan. With his only offer being Western I’m not going to shock anyone by saying Michigan would easily top his list if he were to be offered, but I think that may be the case no matter who comes calling.
You can check out Tyree’s sophomore film below.
That is Asantay Brown. He's already committed to Western Michigan but I believe Michigan might start paying attention to him. Tyree and I actually talked about him too, but it wasn't really relevant to his visit or anything.
Tyree said he thought he was the best WR in the state. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but the kid can play. He's undersized but for the slot he could be lethal. He's a name to watch if Michigan wants to add another receiver in the 2015 class.
Yeah he looks to have 3 pretty damn solid receiving options for a high school team.
Yay my high school.
Who is historically AWFUL at football.
A former Sailor! I'm a Big Red myself, but this kid is leading the charge for arguably the best team Shores has ever seen. The next few years should be pretty exciting for your old school.
Me too! I graduated 2001. We sucked all four years I was at Shores. We came close to beating Puffer once and that was cause for celebration.
My old high school as well.
I went to every single home game, but that was because I was with the Marching band. Did get to see a couple thrillers though.
Mona Shores grad here, too.
I gotta say it's pretty goddamn cool seeing Shores fielding a good team. When I was in school (late 90s to early 00s), football was, well ... bad. Not saying it was for lack of effort or anything, just that it's pretty crazy for me to see a Mona Shores football team with an opportunity to win 7 regular season games.
Mona Shores was always terrible at soccer too. Don't think we ever lost to you guys!
I graduated in 1993.
We had some "good" (5-4) for Shores football years while I was there, but like I said - we were largely awful.
I don't know about soccer, but we were pretty bad at basketball during my time.
Shores was really good at gymnastics, golf, and cross country while I was there and generally passable in most of the other sports - but football and basketball were not good.
when I was at shores from 1997-2001, we were good at golf, wrestling, hockey, gymnastics, and track/cross country. My senior year we had a miracle year in basketball where we made it to the regional finals against Benton Harbor.
I think the best football season we had was a three win season. Muskegon Catholic spanked us every year I was in high school.
We keep hearing recruits say that fans know their names. I understand that for some very high profile recruits like Hand, Peppers etc. But I wonder if some of the fans around the tunnel or by the sidelines are briefed as to who is showing up to the games and what they look like. It seems like a bit too much for every single recruit to have fans know their names and faces.
I agree, that sounds incredibly suspect.
I doubt it is anything official that UofM is doing. The people sitting there probably just look online for a list of visitors. Combine that with a little online "stalking" to find a Facebook picture and that is all it would take. I can't say for sure since I have never sat that close to the tunnel, but that would be my guess. Recruits seem to appreciate the effort/recognition, so I guess it is fine.
Jeez, his WRs are open deep everytime. Granted, he throws the deep ball pretty accurately, but either his WRs are great or the secondaries he's playing against are pretty weak.
I thought he made some great reads, though, on the option. Especially loved that little shovel pass on the triple option. Not the most explosive but looks pretty smart.
Brought back ugly flashbacks from the Indiana game - thanks coach :>)
Nice film - looks like he's still growing into his body.
