Isn't the timing on the Evans and Helmuth news kind of interesting though? I mean, they just started practicing, wouldn't now be the best time to go out there to prove yourself and earn playing time?

The timing of this does seem very odd. The only thing I can think of that might have happened is that after a few practices it became clear to them that they weren't going to even make the 2 deep with the people they saw also competing for their spot. So they maybe decide to transfer to a smaller school (like EMU or a 1-AA) so that they can get more playing time.
