Troy Woolfolk Is Probably Pretty Hurt
Time to dig out the "just jump already" tag: this forum thread may be annoyingly phrased but does
- indicate Troy Woolfolk just got badly injured, possibly in a season-ending fashion
- come from a guy with a two year old account and a track record of dropping information people are skeptical about.
Also apparently Sam Webb has it on Scout.
Current corner depth chart:
1. JT Floyd / random freshman
2. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
I guess Woolfolk can redshirt. So there's that.
UPDATE:
Statement from Michigan Head Coach Rich Rodriguez
Troy Woolfolk suffered a lower body injury during practice this afternoon and was transported to U-M Hospital with our team physician. We can’t comment further due to medical privacy rights.
UPDATE II: Getting reports it is a dislocated ankle, which is in all likelihood season-ending.

August 17th, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
Could we get some f*%$#@ good luck every now and then? Damn it.
August 18th, 2010 at 7:14 AM ^
Yeah, this is one of those times when I hate luck!
August 17th, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
Well fuck. This after I saw the video of the impartial guy picking us to go 11-1. Shit, 10-2 now?
August 17th, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
Please provide a Henne-like true freshman performance.
Thank you.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
that request can be CC'd to Floyd as well.
Ugh.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
a Ty Law/Charles Woodson/William Peterson/Marlin Jackson/Donovan Warren freshman performance. Good freshman CBs aren't necessarily that rare. It's a position where you're basically either good off the bat or you aren't.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
A lot of zone coverage in our future. Cover 3-do-not-get-beat-deep kinda stuff where they nickel and dime their way down the field, while we hope that they screw up in a big way.
Great.
As long as we find a way to cove a wide receiver screen, as I throw up thinking about the MSU game and them running a seemingly endless stream of them, gaining 6-12 yards a pop.

want to cry
August 17th, 2010 at 6:46 PM ^
Michigan Football is going straight to Hell.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:46 PM ^
I'm not going to hit the PANIC! button just yet, but is it too late to browbeat the UM admissions office into admitting Demar Dorsey?
Pretty, please?

Tony Anderson? How bad is James Rodgers?

(a) no i haven't heard of tony anderson (b) james rogers is a former WR. Nooot good.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:58 PM ^
Tony Anderson is a walk-on from Redondo Beach. I actually sat next to him on his flight from LA just prior to the start of fall camp in 2008 (we started talking because I was wearing the M hat). Great kid, well-spoken, was incredibly excited about RichRod and convinced he would see the field soon. I've noticed him a couple of times since on special teams, but never at corner.

...nothing spectacular happened in the film that I recall. But he played.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:47 PM ^
I just threw up in my mouth
August 17th, 2010 at 6:47 PM ^
This is insane, #&U^$, when can things go even a little bit right. I just don't know, after being optimistic for a while I am not really worried about the D.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:48 PM ^
Go Blue!!!!!

Here's hoping our offense will make it not matter.
August 18th, 2010 at 1:00 AM ^
Please let the offense fire on all cylinders such that this becomes moot. Please let the D-Line and linebackers play with such ferocious desire that opposing QBs have no time to victimize our depleted secondary. Please let the next Charles Woodson rise and terrorize the Big Ten in his freshman year (I'm looking at you, Cullen).
Also, just please.
[I fear we may be dealing with the result of a deal with the devil. Nearly 40 years of success. Most of us are too young to remember a time when Michigan was this low. I just hope two years of suck and pain are enough to satisfy the karmic debt.]

Please tell me this is just an episode of The Twilight Zone?
August 17th, 2010 at 6:53 PM ^
GET OVER IT! YES IT SUCKS BUT GIVE ME A BREAK! THE COMMENTS THAT ARE BEING MADE ARE JUST RIDICULOUSLY STUPID! WE WILL MAKE DO WITH WHAT WE HAVE EVEN IF WE ARE FORCED TO PLAY FRESHMAN! WE PUT PRESSURE ON THE OPPONENTS QB, WE COULD LOOK LIKE WE HAVE A STELLAR SECONDARY SO START WORRYING ABOUT OUR D-LINE GETTING PENETRATION! IT'S BEEN A GIVEN THAT WE HAVE TO OUTSCORE PEOPLE AND OUR D IS A YEAR BEHIND OUR O SO WHAT'S NEW?!
THE TEAM, THE TEAM, THE TEAM!
PS. WOOLFOLK GETS A RED-SHIRT AND THEREFORE WE ARE THAT MUCH STRONGER NEXT YEAR FOR IT!
August 17th, 2010 at 6:54 PM ^
OK. SOUNDS GOOD. THANKS!
August 17th, 2010 at 7:01 PM ^
I CAN'T HEAR WHAT YOU'RE TYPING. COULD YOU TURN IT UP?
August 17th, 2010 at 7:02 PM ^
YEAH MAN FOR SURE I JUST SLAMMED A STACK OF PRINGLES AND I FEEL BETTER ALREADY
August 17th, 2010 at 6:53 PM ^
Damn. Damn.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:01 PM ^
Does anybody know definitively what his injury is yet?
August 17th, 2010 at 6:59 PM ^
this is very telling
August 17th, 2010 at 6:59 PM ^
If there is a record for how many offseason misfortunes have struck a football team at a single position, our cornerbacks must have surpassed it by now.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
This isn't going to ruin my optimism for this season. Its just not. I've been too excited for too long. Here's to Cullen Christian.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:04 PM ^
Cheers. {Raises beer, which I'm actually doing.}
August 17th, 2010 at 11:44 PM ^
CULLEN CHRISTIAN: He's a ten-foot tall beast man, who showers in vodka, and feeds his baby shrimp scampi. CULLEN CHRISTIAN.

August 17th, 2010 at 7:14 PM ^
I haven't bawled this much since I saw Terrence Cody shirtless at the NFL combine
August 17th, 2010 at 8:12 PM ^
T'Would appear as though the emotion of the moment got to me. I had nightmares ok?
August 17th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
All I wanted for Christmas was 8 wins.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
I refuse to believe any of this until someone provides a source. Somebody saying a player is probably hurt does nothing for me.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:03 PM ^
Like a good kid once said in the youtube video David After Dentist
"Is this Real life?"
August 17th, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
next time try not to ruin your own punchline in the subject.
