Troy Woolfolk Is Probably Pretty Hurt
Time to dig out the "just jump already" tag: this forum thread may be annoyingly phrased but does
- indicate Troy Woolfolk just got badly injured, possibly in a season-ending fashion
- come from a guy with a two year old account and a track record of dropping information people are skeptical about.
Also apparently Sam Webb has it on Scout.
Current corner depth chart:
1. JT Floyd / random freshman
2. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
I guess Woolfolk can redshirt. So there's that.
UPDATE:
Statement from Michigan Head Coach Rich Rodriguez
Troy Woolfolk suffered a lower body injury during practice this afternoon and was transported to U-M Hospital with our team physician. We can’t comment further due to medical privacy rights.
UPDATE II: Getting reports it is a dislocated ankle, which is in all likelihood season-ending.

would be a killer corner since he understands the O now and would presumably be able to pick up others. Dilithium on both sides!
August 17th, 2010 at 6:31 PM ^
One of the freshmen are really going to have to step up. Demar Dorsey sure would have been nice :(.
Go Blue

If he could just miss the first half of the season that would be non-conference (including what should still be easy Ws against Umass and BGSU) and Indiana (who is terrible) this at worst would cost us one game (the chances it swings both ND or Uconn don't strike me as too high) and probably not even that.
If he misses the second half against better QBs this could easily cost us a game, maybe 2 or 3.

Ankle sprains cause tremendous pain but often heal pretty quickly guys. Get off the ledge for a second while we wait for the word.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:38 PM ^
Yeah, unless his foot actually came off, I have a pretty hard time seeing how an ankle sprain would be season ending. Here's to a healthy October...
August 17th, 2010 at 6:38 PM ^
A compound fracture heals much faster than a bad (high) ankle sprain. I am however in agreement with you that everyone should just calm down until we hear something definitive.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:43 PM ^
that it'll at least be lingering and meddlesome either way? we really really needed an above average anchor in the secondary.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:52 PM ^
Some ankle sprains heal relatively quickly. High ankle sprains can be long term problems.

August 17th, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
an ankle dislocation will not heal quickly, and a bad sprain for a cornerback makes them unable to cut and change directions. not good news, but not the end of the season either. Im expecting some lower UFR numbers in the secondary now
August 17th, 2010 at 6:32 PM ^
Sucks to work so hard and then be injured two weeks before you senior season starts. Hope it is not as bad as feared.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:34 PM ^
Probably Pretty Hurt: internet reporting at its finest. Lets wait for xrays and such. That much info can't be known that quickly.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
Exactly.
As much as it sucks for all of us, it sucks 1000x more for Troy.
Prayers for a speedy recovery.

Jordan Kovacs v2.0 from the walk-ons
August 17th, 2010 at 6:59 PM ^
get off the ledge and suit up. time for us all to become walk-ons
August 17th, 2010 at 6:34 PM ^
That's just great.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:34 PM ^
Our 4 corners are Cullen Christian, JT Floyd, Teric Jones and Terrance Talbott. Two Freshman and two guys with little experience.
August 17th, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
and a reportedly steady Courtney Avery, James Rogers, and a steady stream of walk-ons. Competition!
August 17th, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
Please have had the awesomest, most righteous summers of working out evar and let you be average. That's all we ask....average. We know you can do it. Thank you.
Sincerely,

more than half our games with the secondary we have. My honest instant reaction is that the season is fucked.

As long as you can stay out of jail and can come in mildly good condition your already more prepared
August 17th, 2010 at 6:37 PM ^
I played Doom 2 and Doom 3 (where I'm going to go ahead and assume the graphic came from.) They were both a lot more fun than this.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:37 PM ^
My genitalia might not recover so easily this time. Dong thoroughly punched through. Ow.
August 17th, 2010 at 6:39 PM ^
i feel inside. the only way this defense was going to be better than last season was if it was significantly deeper. i don't see how you get there at this point. luck is our obi-wan.

The closest thing we have to an established player in the secondary now is Jordan Kovacs.
