I created a new acount just so I could say how proud I am of this team. No Burke, no Hardaway, and no McGary, and they are still getting it done on the road against a top 5 team. That's what I like to  see!

O Canada revised.

O Canada!

Our home and native land!

True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see threes fly,

The True North "Pancakes" three!

From far and wide,

O Canada, Nik stands on guard for three.

Not just-a-shooter but glorious from three!

O Canada, Nik stands on guard for three.

O Canada, Nik stands on guard for three.

1)  The Kohl Center is actually the alien space ship for the TV show "V" that just looks like a basketball arena.  Our win today literally prevented the end of the human race, as Bo Ryan and his band of alien snakes who eat rats and referee whistles were finally staked with enough offense to destroy mankind.

NIK STAUSKAS SAVED MANKIND.  LET IT FOREVER BE KNOWN THAT CANADA IS GOOD FOR SOMETHING!  VIVA THE HUMAN RACE!

(though it is a bummer that we didn't get to see Bo Ryan shed his human skin, become his true lizard self, take a gigantic shit that actually looks like a slow, plodding 6'10 power forward with surprising athleticism who fouls incessantly and hits oddly launched three point shots with minimal post game, and then dies having produced the last pod necessary for the destruction of humanity.   Oh well...always next year).

2)   The creativity of this offense is really a sight to behol.   We run curls, high ball screens and pick and rolls from every spot on the floor imaginable.  If you want to go to the NBA with all the fundamental skills for your position and lights out shooting ability - go to Michigan.  Can you remember anyone who develops talent like Beilein does?  It's criminal that he has been under resourced for so long in his career.  This team is like the Vociloraptors from Jurassic Park - we just keep learning and growing at an exponential rate.

3)   The thing I like about Nik is that he has no fear.  I would rather go down proud and fearless than fearful and passive.   Is there any doubt he hasn't practiced that shot a million times?

Also how is this kid going to be a low first round pick?  He has athletiscism, he can pass with limited turnovers, he can run the pick and roll, and he is an absolutely lethal shooter.  Could you imagine an offense where he is paired with another lights out pick and roll gaurd in a two gaurd set?  They would destroy teams just off of open shots on ball rotation alone.  He is going to be a star in the NBA if utilized the right way.  An absolute star...

4)    I think the one thing that is being lost in all of this is the maturation of Glenn Robinson right before our eyes.  That high curl jumper is a man size shot.  That is an NBA level shot.  He neeeds to develop a step back post jumper and if he did that, watch out.  I know this sounds crazy to say but he has Jordan level talent.  He just doesn't have that killer instinct.  But when Wisconsin was making that run, wouldn't Glenn Robinson in the post abusing fools seem like the natural antidote?  If he can make the step back jumper like he can hit the jumper off the high curl - he would be damn near unstoppable.  I think as the season progresses we will see Glenn being used to push leads out and Nik being used to close if necessary.   The step back jumper also gives Glenn something to use on guys more physical or bigger than he is.

Wow - what a win.  Great team effort....go blue!
