So. That happened. If you are feeling like David after Dentist, you are not alone.

And you can't have one without the other…

Let's not blow it against Purdue!

Sometime this summer I came to the realization that despite having this that and the other thing with Michigan on it, I didn't have any t-shirts.  So I bought a long-sleeve and a short-sleeve this week when I was in AA for my interview.  I'm wearing the long-sleeve today.  Lucky t-shirt?  I don't know, but I know enough to realize that not wearing it next Saturday just isn't even an option.  It's like driving to 7 and Gratiot and leaving the car running while you run in and grab something from the store: tempting fate in a way you just wouldn't even consider doing.

MUPPETS!!! Fuck yeah. Now I can be a happy drunk tonight. Hell, I might even buy some strangers a round.

Edit: I'm going to party like it's my Mgopoint total. To anybody that thinks it's beneath us to celebrate bowl eligibility, fuck off. We've been through hell and this is good for us now.

What an amazing, entertaining game! I feel the same way as you though I'm going to party way over my Mgopoint total because as you can see I have very few... Regardless, I'm starting to get hungover from earlier today and we all know the best way to cure one of those: more alcohol! Trust me, it's science.

We deserved to win.  I don't like the Illini.  First of all, Zook just rubs me the wrong way and comes off as an ass for some reason.  They play dirty, from Liuget trying to shove his junk in Moosman's face last year, to the spearing against Denard, to the incredibly dangerous extra push out of bounds near the end of the game.  That was probably the clincher for me--Zook's goons knocked over a cameraman (I think) in the process and could have driven Tate into the brick wall.  I don't want to know how a football helmet holds up in that kind of collision.  It's just too bad that 67-65 makes for some very unusual trash-talk, if at all.

My girlfriend of three years has been a Michigan fan since we started dating.  She'd grown up a "fan", but never really cared to watch.  I got her into football and she loves it now.  Unfortunately, it's only been three years... she's never seen Michigan in a bowl, never seen a win over MSU or OSU and the only game she's ever been to was the fiasco of a game against Northwestern in '08, where we got soaked to the bone and then frozen while we watched the stadium empty around us.  To top that all off, we decided to watch some old Michigan games to get her a little caught up on the history.  She wanted me to download both wins and losses so she would be suprised by the result.  She picked the '94 Colorado game.  Yet, she still watches every week with me.  To summarize: she was extremely happy to see the Muppets today.

Also, does ANYONE have video of today's halftime show?  It's like they took every Michigan football meme from the last five years and rolled it into one thing.  They even borrowed the design of a former MGoShirt.

Also, I credit the return of the Big Ten flags for the victory.

I don't have video yet, but here is my brief synopsis of the halftime show from today's game (copied from my HSR post doing the same thing)

The show starts with a video of a cyclone picking up the Big House. Then it picks up the Notre Dame Leprechaun. Then it picks up a green block S, in front of said block S is a flaming couch. Then it picks up an angry picture of Joe Paterno, and over the PA, you can hear "COME TO PENN STATE!" from the Big Ten Network ad.

So the Big House lands on "The Wicked Witch of the South", whose socks are scarlet and grey. The Witch has stolen Denard Robinson's shoes, so our hero, Dorothy Hail has to get them back to Ann Arbor for the second half. She then gets a visit from Mary Sue (President Coleman), the Good Witch of the North, who tells her she needs to go see the Wizard who lives in the Sapphire City at the end of the Maize Brick Road. Dorothy is also met by some munchkins, whom she notes remind her of her "Little Brothers in East Lansing."

So Dorothy sets out down the Maize Brick Road where she meets a scarecrow who does have a brain, having to stand out in fields in horrible places like Indiana, Illinois, and Nebraska. Then they meet a Tin Man who doesn't have a heart, because it broke after he at so many bratwursts and cheese from his work in Wisconsin. Dorothy agrees to bring him along, because at worst, when they get back to Ann Arbor, she can turn him in for the ten cent deposit. Then they meet up with the Cowardly Nittany Lion, who lacks courage.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, one of the minions of the Wicked Witch of the East, Brutus Buckeye attacks our merry band, but they are rescued by Rufus, the Ohio Bobcat, who tackles Brutus and chases him off the Maize Brick Road. Then the Wicked Witch of the East attacks and uses her powers to make the Michigan Marching Band spell out Script Ohio. Dorothy has no fear though, as she reminds the witch that Michigan was the first marching band to spell out Script Ohio as a MMB sousaphone knocks the Witch out and O-H-I-O becomes O-H-N-O.

Eventually they reach the Sapphire City where the Wizard turns out to be Michigan drum major David Hines Jr. who tells Dorothy she had the power to go home all along by just putting on Denard's shoes (leave the laces untied) click her heels together and say "There's no place like Ann Arbor."

Reading that made me smile. Your avatar made me smile like I was six and watching Square One again. The game made me smile (after it was all said and done). The only thing that could be better is seeing the band show. Sounds like a classic.

The end is "...no place like The Big House."

Also, not just cheese, but cheese curds. Not that I care so much... it's just that I LOVE me some damn cheese curds!!

Nonetheless.... thanks for posting this, cuz I missed the beginning. I'd gone out to grab something to drink, and when I heard "....little brothers back in East Lansing".... I thought WTF???? and RAN back to my seat.

Give up 65 points, even to a sucky Big 10 team, and you are likely going to lose the majority of the time.

Also, near the end of regulation, Tate and others looked rushed, wren't sure when/if to call time outs. That's coaching.

Okay, I'll worry about that Monday.   Damn fun win!

We complain and enter doomsday scenarios all week long on our asses in front a screen and keyboard while they sweat and work their asses off for hours on end. Good for The Team. Hail to the Victors!

Way too stressful thanks to the defense and those turnovers, but hey, a lot lot lot of fun.  We had a lot to drink when we got back to tailgate - Goldschläger and Jello shots mostly, but also some really good homebrew.
