landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
Darius Morris had a triple-double against Iowa—just the third in the program's history—and I managed to completely omit any mention of this when I talked about the game. In an effort to repair the fail here it is in its entirety thanks to UMHoops and Josh Houchin:
It got fancy in there for a moment. Almost as if someone was… dancing.
That half court one-handed pass was epic. After either that or the next play with the behind the back pass I would have thrown my remote and done something else as an Iowa fan.
Yeah I probably would have broken my tv. Those both were awesome plays by Morris, Morgan, and Vogrich (sp?).
I almost pissed myself with excitement after those plays
The beyond half court pass looks so rad from the baseline angle.
I swear I saw it phase-shift through that one guys arm.
It was very Matrix-esque, wasn't it?
Watch without sound. Doyle strikes again. I'm pretty sure that guy is following me. I'm 100% sure he's been haunting my dreams.
Congrats to Darius. While Novak is the heart and soul of the team, Darius makes us go. Scoring or assisting on 53% of baskets is ridiculous. I just love the way he keeps his head up and his cool about him while he's on the dribble
Triple-doubles are pretty rare in college basketball mostly due to it being a shorter game..
I believe they said it was Michigan's 1st triple-double ever in conference play. Very, very impressive.
Manny Harris's came against Northern Michigan last year. So I think you're right about this being the first in conference play
Gary Grant had one against UNC in the NCAA tournament.
i probably replayed that and watched it 10 times. the replay at the end with the baseline angle was sick too...
"The butterfly" I feel this urge to push Tim Doyle off a cliff... I'm ashamed to share a first name with him.
Yeah it gets to be damn annoying whenever he says that.
He scored our first points, got our first assist and got the last rebound. Total domination. Love this kid.
The nickname is still there.... seriously? The Butterfly? I mean I know we have had a discussion on what his name should be before, but the commentators need to get the memo.
I really enjoyed that video; I probably had a goofy smirk on my face the whole time. Congrats to Mr. Morris. He played one helluva game.
Passes to Morgan. So pretty.
Watching those clips almost makes me want to start following basketball.
A couple of those feeds to Morgan were just flat-out special.
Not that it needs to be said again (or does it?) but that kid's good. Some of those passes were straight out dirty. If he keeps this up we'll have a solid squad in a year or two.
Also - who thinks Horford will be really good? He shows some flashes. I look forward to the day we have Morgan, Metrics and Horford all playing as upperclassmen.
"There was a man, with bright shiny shoes. I saw him dancing. Until the accident."
The butterfly nickname has to go! If you have to explain your nickname every single game (and you're the only one that goes within ten feet of it), it's time to rethink things.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but my only concern about D-Mo is that he is reeeeallly right-handed. I'm frankly a bit surprised that the scouting report doesn't seem to have caught up to him.
On the other hand, if he's wrecking shit with just one hand, imagine what he'll look like after another off-season of working on his left. His upside will immediately vault from whatever it is now to Shaun Livingston-like proportions. Let's just hope he doesn't get drafted by the Clippers and then be forced to have a catastrophic knee injury, which seems to be contractually required if you play for the Clips.
Well, that was very professional and considerate of you to admit your mistake and not only make up for it but make up for it in a big way. Kudos to you and I hope that you will inspire others to do the same.
