I couldn't watch the game live . . . our church had Good Friday worship at 7pm, Central Time Zone, and as the pastor, well, you understand.

Fortunately, my best friend, a fellow Michigan alum and church member, DVR'd the game.  We, along with his father-in-law who got a couple degrees from Michigan, and my 11 year old son, started the game around 8:20pm (9:20 Michigan time.) Honestly, it didn't look good for Michigan.

About half way through, another Michigan grad called the phone of the father-in-law, who innocently answered. Dave & I yelled, "don't let him tell you, we don't want to know!!!" That was a close call, and why you have to go on "phone silence" if you watch a DVR'd game.

As it was, I think that was the most miraculous Michigan finish I have seen in a long time (ok, UTL & Anthony Carter's Indiana game, but other than that, best. game. ever.) Honestly, this was better than the 1989 championship game for me.

My voice was starting to get hoarse, and I realized I had to back off and save my voice for Easter. Fortunately, the game falls well between church and Easter dinner, so I'll be able to watch it.

One other thing:  this game pretty much makes up for the Wisconsin loss and the Indiana loss for me. Those were crushing, but this was incredible.

And lastly, while Burke is the star, and Hardaway and Robinson are critical, the NCAA has been the coming out party for McGary. These wins don't happen without McGary.

Sorry to ask but last night was on in a place with no tv from halftime on and on the AM radio i couldnt find the game. So i was here following the game. I was reading that the game is over and were down 11 with like three min left... That they had " to miss 7 in row and we had to make 8 in row". So i tune the radio to fm instead and find were down three and then burke nails it ....WTF. can someone PLEASE explain how we overcame that deficit...becuause my mind is at odds thinking we lost
Thx

If you read this (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/breaking-down-final-230-ot) it should help.  Otherwise, if you're patient (and I would recommend this, just to get the full effect) I'm guessing mgovideo will have the full game up at some point today.  Or you can download the torrent here (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/michigan-vs-kansas-torrent) if you're into that sort of thing.

I could not agree more about McGary.  Trey IS the hero, no doubt.  But McGary.  He is now a MAN.  Period.  He set the screen for Burke's shot.  He had 14 boards and 25 points.  I was hoping he was for real after the first two games, but 14 and 25 against Kansas prove it.

Trey is the head, Mitch is the heart.  If those two can do their thing, given a little support from the rest of the cast, there is no reason this team can't continue on.

Well, that's a good point. Trey brought Michigan back from the dead alright. But you have to know your audience, and suburban Chicago is not going to resonate with using an NCAA basketball game as a sermon illustration on the resurrection. Now if the Cubs ever do something, that might be a picture people would get.

Love everything about Trey's shot but my favorite part is Mitch with the LEGAL takedown screen on nutbuster.  Johnson not being ejected is a travesty of the review system

I couldn't fall asleep until 1:30 Central time, because I was watching this shot on a loop.

And now, first thing in the morning, I'm still watching this shot.

I'm wondering if someone has the audio from Matt Shepard and mgoblue.com?

I would really love to hear that.

. . . McGary would have known to collapse BEFORE the dong punch.

Of course, if Crean had coached Michigan, the team would never had adjusted its game against Kansas, or against anyone, ever.  So there's that.

Steve Kerr's "ohhhhh!!" makes it even better.
It's probably good that Gus Johnson wasn't calling the game because he probably would have died.

One thing I notice too, is when Trey drains that. Stauskas and McGary and everyone gets back on D...they don't dilly-dally celebrating until they hear the TO whistle.

That's good coaching.

Anyone else rip too many shots of Vodka after this game, throw up too many times, and promise their wife they could do anything today And watch the Kids if Michigan won??

Well worth it.
