Ticket Watch Goes on the Road Comment Count

YESTERDAY’S TRADING:

It turned out to be a beautiful day. Wisconsin tickets were going for about $40 under face outside the stadium (and at our tailgate), so like $60 to $80. They hung around face online until it was too late to sell there. That’s probably as high as it will get in Ann Arbor. As for away from Ann Arbor, well…

NOW ENTERING THE ROAD ZONE

Supply and demand drive a market, and when the road team travels as well as Michigan that drives up demand, since most of those away fans have to get a home fan who already decided to buy a ticket to give that up. Doing so means risking the chance to see THE GREAT RIVAL taken down before you, and risking the shame of Staudt on Sports callers (at 1:25):

That’s why Michigan State ($231) and Ohio State ($349) tickets are off their rockers right now. Those fans who are selling are those who bought expecting to sell them. With MSU I wouldn’t buy until the Friday before, when a big market that was holding back decides selling to Michigan for $180 is worth the shame. For Ohio State, well, the only thing that can change the price of a ticket to Football Armageddon II is if it doesn’t happen, which is still a possibility.

Rutgers and Iowa on the other hand, well, this is from yesterday:

Not knowing a game time froze the marketplace last night. Now that it appears the hurricane won’t come north, they’ve picked up a bit again. Demorest informed me that he’s on a flight with all Michigan fans, and most already have their tickets, and if a lot of the Michigan fans already made their move that bodes well for those who haven’t yet. Rutgers fans aren’t exactly the most realistic out there, but enough of them must be to help #maizethestripe on the 50% chance that this doesn’t happen:

CHEAP TIP

No: Hi, brother who didn’t get into Michigan. We should go to the Michigan-Michigan State game together. Oh yeah both teams are doing well, should be a great fight; you know Dantonio. Do you know anyone…you do! Great.

Yes: Hi, Sparty. We’re gonna kick your [tight end]s this year. Lol O’Connor sucks. Sure I’ll put my money where my mouth is; whoever loses has to pay for the tickets, deal?

BEST DEAL RIGHT NOW (that I can find on the sponsor's site because let's support people who support us okay?)

Ok this one’s a find:

Is there a way to go about finding Jack Roth Club seat tickets? I'm taking my wife and two daughters to their first Michigan game ever at the Big House for Illinois and I want to splurge to make the experience as awesome and memorable as possible.

More power to you, but my advice is: Get regular seats in the stands. Yeah, they aren't cushy. But the experience in the middle of the bowl is unforgettable. Splurge for a good location so that the game is fun to watch, perhaps on the northeast 30 yard line halfway up where you can see everything and hear the band clearly. Something like that. Invest in a pregame restaurant or tailgate trip.

My thoughts, anyway. That's what I would do if I had the money for it.

In addition to the standard "We can't talk about that until we beat MSU and OSU" disclaimer which actually applies to the context here, even if that was a given (say, we were in Alabama's situation) there's no point until the game and the opponent are known. The entire market now consists of speculative selling. It's not the right time to buy.

Sat in row B for the 2007 Penn State game.  Personally, I do not like sitting that close as the players on the sideline can be in the way of your view when sitting down.  Also, the rows start to flatten out toward the bottom so that the people in row A are not much lower than you.  Or at least it was that way in 2007; not sure if that has changed.

Do you think prices for the OSU game are going to come down?

UM might have just cleared their biggest hurdle that was standing in the way to being 11-0 entering Columbus.  Sparty won't be easy in East Lansing, but this doesn't appear to be the same Sparty as the last 5-6 years.  Each week the Iowa game moves more and more into the 'should be a win' column.

OSU probably has their last big hurdle next week at Camp Randall.  After that is either Sparty in East Lansing or Nebraska in Columbus.

"Rutgers has a huge recruiting weekend on tap with Michigan coming to town. Joining most of the committed prospects, four-star defensive lineman Corey Bolds will be in attendance, and according to one of his coaches, ESPN300 linebacker Drew Singleton is going to try to make the trip as well. The Scarlet Knights could have a slew of quarterbacks on campus as well as ESPN Junior 300 quarterback Artur Sitkowski will be visiting as well as 2018 signal caller Devin Leary. As of Friday afternoon, ESPN Jr 300 quarterback Allan Walters, the No. 169 ranked prospect, said he is still a maybe for the visit."

Not sure if this is the game I would want all my top recruits coming to witness.

Getting curb stomped by Michigan's defense isn't a good look.

Rutgers student tickets are basically down to free. Everyone claimed one so they could sell it, but the supply of people trying to sell brought the ticket down to free. Rutgerz.
