A Thought for UConn

This isn't really about the quality of the UConn program, more an idea I had for the return game. As we all know, UConn isn't allowed to play more than the Notre Dame game every year outside the state of Connecticut. Thus we're sort of resigned to playing them in Hartford... or not.

Enter the Yale Bowl. 65,000 seats in New Haven, close enough to New York City to draw our Manhattanite alums and still in the state of Connecticut to fulfill UConn's obligations. The Yale Bowl was the inspiration for both the Big House and the Rose Bowl... I think playing there would be awesome.

I believe otherwise, I mean UConn is definitely not a big name opponent, and IMO it would be a dismal failure to schedule them for a home-and-home although playing in the Yale Bowl would be kewl.

C'mon guys, schedule a home and home with a strong SEC/Big 12 team...let's give the fans something that they want to see...I say we play Arkansas or Tennessee...or let's play Florida or Miami, which would only help out recruiting down there (especially if we win)

New Haven is not really anywhere near the Storrs/Hartford Area, and the Yale Bowl, while historic, is very old and dilapidated. It is very much an example of the Ivy League stadiums that were new and state-of-the-art back when their teams were still nationally relevant.

P.S. Anyone know if Yale would even cotton to the idea of Connecticut playing in its home field?
