One of the best seasons ever for U-M, probably 2nd best record ever for a season behind 2005.

Thanks for a great season and next year should be special as well, good luck to all of you and thank you Coach Hutch for being the best coach we could ask for!

My heart breaks for you but you can hold your head up high!!!!

Never thought I'd be able to get into a softball game. This tournament has had me on the edge of my seat. Great season, ladies. Nothing to be ashamed of!

EDIT: I am bad at embedding tweets. The B1G tweeted its appreciation of the great season here, with this pic. These ladies done us all proud. Hail.

You are. I enjoy watching softball thanks to you. Rest this offseason, recombine and proceed towards another championship.

Leaders and best! Go Blue! Hutch-baugh!

post game presser Wagner said she wanted to wear her jersey as long as she could, to the very last possible game. She went on to say that she might not ever wear the jersey again but that she would always be a Wolverine. I can't think of a better representative of Michigan athletics. I know how disappointed she is but if not for her, she would not have had the last possible game to put on her uniform. Go Blue. And go Wagner. And go Mitch. Always Wolverines.

That was a tough loss, but they deserve all the praise in the world for how they played this season. Congratulations on everything you all accomplished and wolverine nation is very proud of you.

Enjoyed every game I could watch including tonight. As a softball coach at much younger levels (dad of 3 daughters) I talked about the team a lot. Tonight's loss sucks but know that it inspired many softball players under my watch. Go Blue and Go Hutch!!!!

You inspired many with your teamwork, fight, and spirit, all done for Michigan with sportsmanship, humility, and class.

I know your pain, as I came up just short in my collegiate national championship race, many years ago. It still hurts.

If I could tell you one thing from my experience it would be this:

Even with your talented returning roster, there are NO guarantees you will be back in this series next season, so use this pain to drive you EVERY day (okay, "Attack every day with an enthusiasm unknown to womankind!").

I look forward to 2016!

Women's softball (and men's too, for that matter) is still all about good pitching, which beats good hitting evey time. Gator pitcher Lauren Haeger just had too much English on the ball for the M hitters to meet and drive it squarely. And even when they did hit it more or less squarely it mostly seemed to be right at someone. When Sierra Romero couldn't make good contact with the ball, you kinda knew it might be a long game.

But hey, kudos to Lauren Haeger --- it's not for nothing she got Player of the Year. But even more kudos to our softball Wolverines, who gave their all with great class. We're proud of every one of them. Go Blue!

Loved the run!  If we're not back in the running next year I will be shocked and disappointed.

My only complaint is with allowing Florida to stand over the plate and let the pitch hit them.  In a couple cases they were actually out of the box when they were hit.  Once again, the NCAA will implement some kind of rule change after Michigan gets screwed - too little too late.

The umping was very inconsistent.  At one point, Curt Schilling started down the path of asking how the umps were selected for the tournament, but he quickly put a halt to that line of discussion.  He also started to criticize some of Hutch's decisions, but dude, she's the second winningest coach of all time - I think she understands softball a bit more than a guy whose daughter plays in high school and is going to DIII next year.

lets remember that the softball players are not out there hoping to set up a pro career.  someday there may be "major league softball", but today, this is the apex of their sport.......played for the love of the game and the competition, knowing there is not a viable professional future.

this team LOVES the game and plays like they are there to enjoy it.    I could not be more proud of a Michigan team.

but these ladies had me on the edge of my seat in both the regionals and the world series. Most fun I've had watching Michigan sports since football had a winning season! Thank you ladies! Go Blue and win it all next year!

a while and enjoy it. This was a fun team to watch. They are good and seem to really be having fun and enjoying each other's success and the team's success, much like the men's basketball team. This is something that seemed to be missing from tha football program for several years. Congratulations ladies on a great season.

It's frustrating to come up just short, but there's no shame in losing a hard-fought 3-game series to a super-elite team.

M should be in very good shape for next year. We return 10 proven good hitters: Lindsay Montemarano had the worst batting line of any of the regulars, and her OBP was .427! Amanda Vargas (OBP .400/slug .596) and Taylor Swearingen (.402/.627) had to come off the bench. The only question about the offense next year is whether it will break the single season record for runs scored. The pitching is Betsa and ???, so it would help greatly if Driesenga is granted a medical redshirt and comes back close to 100%.
