is this kid under rated?? rivals rating is a 5.9 .. steve threet is a 5.8... the kid has what 50 offers? and hes not a 6.0... his senior year number r pretty impressive... he might even throw 4 4000 yards with a rb that might rush for 1500
Tate Forcier- rating
He's just physically not as strong as a higher ranked player.
Threet got a good chunk of his 5.8 based on being 6'5" and 220 lbs.
Who cares about numbers as long as the kid can play and he's going to be a Wolverine?
Size is certainly something that would stop the services from rating him too highly.
He's smaller and a system back, of course he is rated lower.
Underated... he works out 5-7 days a week, he'll get even quicker/faster once barwis has him. I dono if im wrong, but i think tebow didnt get up to 5 star until he led his team to state championship. If forcier leads his team to state championship game, or win it, he'll be 5 star prob. He plays number 2 ranked team in state this friday so we'll see..
Tebow led his team to a state championship in the top division in Florida, and a top 5 national finish. Forcier plays in one of the weakest divisions in California, and his team is not vaguely close to being nationally recognized.
that sounds very promising....
I'm not saying that Forcier is/will be bad. At all. But this "Forcier is Tebow!!!" meme is silly. It's based on the fact that:
a) they're white
b) neither is a pocket passer
Forcier is, plain and simple, not as big a recruit as Tebow was. That doesn't mean he won't be good. But you're comparing him to possibly the single-most successful college quarterback EVER. Lets calm a bit. Lower our expectations from "Best College QB Ever".
You forgot that they're both homeschooled (or in Forcier's case, charter uh, schooled).
Until I see a report that Forcier is going around circumcising little boys he is no Tebow.
You're absolutely right. The Tebow comparison is off the deep end. A good first step would be to have Michigan have the best dual-threat quarterback in the state; then we'll worry about the nation. If he ends be a Dan LeFevour caliber dual threat quarterback that's a win in my book.
Do you know what's sillier than this "Forcier is Tebow!!!" meme? The word "meme."
Go ahead, start an anti-meme meme.
You know how when you're standing between two mirrors, both sides look they're going on into infinity?
That's not infinity, that's the tubes the internets are made out of.
The internets is not a series of tubes. It's a truck! A big truck. A massive Mack truck hurtling uncontrollably down the highway. A hulking beast of a truck from beyond Thunderdome that has been stripped down and reassembled into an unrecognizable machine of fury heading straight for the 1972 Ford Pinto known as my computer as it sits stalled and helpless.
And I'm scared of it.
Actually, the image I had was Cartman's giant mutated Trapper Keeper from that one episode of South Park.
... the same division that Jimmah was from ? Honest question.
If Forcier fulfills his highest potential, he will be a Drew Brees/Troy Smith type QB. And if he doesn't... Drew Tate maybe?
the size of his older brothers with his skill set he'd be rated higher. his rating isn't nearly as important as his offer sheet. UF, PSU, UM, the kid can play
Offers really are the best indication on how good a prospect is. And as you say you can't have a better offer sheet than what Tate got.
Tate Forcier is going to win five Heismans, and that includes the medical redshirt year when he steps in front of a Black Rhino bullet to save Barack Obama from Michael Richards.
Mark it down.
Tate Forcier eats pieces of shit like Tim Tebow for breakfast.
Tate Forcier is a ten-foot tall beast man, who showers in vodka, and feeds babies shrimp scampi!
TATE FORCIER EATS PIECES OF SHIT FOR BREAKFAST?!
Anybody remember Tebow's team losing to Hoover in an early season game on the first season of the MTV show "Two-A-Days"??? Um, yeah, me neither....
yea i do actually what a great show that was. then i found out about their coach, what an interesting character that guy is.
Maybe this has been discussed already, but it seems like we spend a lot more time talking about Forcier and not much time talking about Beaver. Are people down on Beaver or is he just more raw?
I think what the argument ends up being is about Tate's arm, and his accuracy. Beaver needs more work in that area, but he is rated, I think, the 6th best scrambler for dual-threat quarterbacks. So, it's just a different argument.
I think it's logical to think Forcier is the more likely candidate to play NEXT YEAR for 2 reasons:
1. He's had much more coaching.
2. Beaver's shoulder could likely prevent him from practicing during the spring, and will certainly hold him out of any upper-body conditioning that he would start in January (he's enrolling early). Forcier will have the benefit of this.
Yea, I think this is the most logical argument made, and is probably the closest to the truth.
Who would have been the better QB at WVU last year, Tebow or White?
I know its a silly analogy because Forcier =/= Tebow and Beaver =/= White (not to mention WVU 2007 =/= UM 2009), but I'm bored so fuck it.
why did you have to bring logic to this meme (there I said it, I'll go vomit now)
... his size goes, aren't 17 year olds know to maybe, you know .... grow some?
