One quarterback is out, at least for now, and seemingly forever: someone finally asked Dave Brandon about Tate Forcier and he said he was "not with the program"—this is something that there was plenty of writing on the wall about since he hasn't been at meetings and currently isn't enrolled.

Meanwhile, other players are saying Denard is all in but Denard is remaining circumspect:

Robinson would not say whether he would stay at Michigan or transfer. "No," Robinson told The Detroit News as he walked into Michigan Stadium, when asked if he met with Hoke.

When pressed on the matter, Robinson smiled, shook his head and continued to walk into the stadium for what appeared to be a team meeting, about 90 minutes before Hoke's press conference.

"No comment," he said.

The press conference touched on Denard and because Hoke has eyes he'll try to keep him around.

In other news, the media is currently tickling Brady Hoke's belly.

should not mean the end of the world (at least that is what I keep telling myself), but this hire is going to be a tough one to swallow and accept/support if Denard leaves.  I looked forward to the games every Saturday this year mostly because of the special talent Denard has.  And of course the dreads.

I've been down in Oklahoma City all week and got to hear the local sports blather about the Hoke hire. Believe it or not, they are largely very positive. Most think RR got fired for the same reasons we do: not enough wins, and winless against tOSU and MSU.

One guy this AM mentioned that Hoke was "in the running" for the Auburn opening, and some Auburn fans were even bitching about hiring "a loser" instead of Hoke. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, maybe we got a better guy than some of us think.

They were also candid about why Miles turned us down. One of the local TV sports guys who is also on the local sports talk radio said that he could think of "at least seven reasons" why LSU was a better option for Les. Among the factors: better players, better program, (at least for now) more likely to win the NC, (at least for now) money no object, etc. Again, not all points were accurate, but I found it refreshing to get someone's opinion other than from ESPN and the Detroit Mafia ... Oops, I meant "media".

Nice to see most people aren't hating on the Forcier, and the "genetically predisposed to transferring" meme has also been kept to a minimum.

I congratulate most posters on being decent about Mr. Forcier's issues.   Maybe he just doesn't want to be here anymore, maybe he is just having problems adjusting to college, who knows.

I hope he does well wherever he ends up.

We'll always have the 2009 ND game.  Without Forcier 2009 would have been much worse than it was.   He was playing great until the combined shoulder injury / O-line implosion after Molk went out.

Also Hoke better do everything in his power to keep Denard around....
