This topic was brought to my attention and it really got me thinking about this upcoming season. First of all, I am very curious how RichRod plans on using Tate. I think RichRod will use Tate a lot like he used Pat White. One user said that he won't gain 1000 yards and I tend to agree. I don't think he's the second coming of Vick. But I firmly think that he will put up more then 400. Tate isn't a passer who can run. Lets get that out of the way right now. Tate isn't a runner who can pass either. Hes both. What a lot of people fail to understand about Tate is that he pulled off
FAR better rushing numbers in high school then Denard did. While that alone isn't a good enough indicator, it's something to look at. Denard has the raw speed. Tate is more of a faster Jeff Garcia. Speed alone does not make someone a great scrambler. Being quick on your feet and knowing when to tuck it and run is. Simply stating Tate will only "keep the defense honest" is a bit of a dumb statement. Tate will not break 1000 but he will do more then 400. I'm guessing around 600-700. The Spring Game was a good idea of how much Tate will run. Tate is a very rare QB. You don't see many QBs like him. He's fast, accurate, and has a strong arm. 3/3.
