The social side of the Spring Game. I am staying off the on-field play here.
The event itself was about as good as it could be. A huge happy crowd, an okay band, fun music during the pre-game workout. Great weather.
Great pre-game tailgates from the frats next to the union, through all the houses, to the parking lots, to folks scarfing pizzas in the stands.
Hot dancers to watch while the field reset. Refs who were calling like a real game.
The crowd got more and more excited. Just the start of a great new Michigan thing.
Even when Koger was doing his thing folks in the stands were staying hyped.
The special guests, and the three M national champs in other sports, were a real special time. I was happy to be there, and everyone I saw was too.
No matter what the truth of the text books kicking contest and who is paying for it, RichRod had 50k folks thinking he is pretty cool.
Things I would like to see changed:
More parking (not sure how)
Open more bathrooms
Bigger band section (maybe the full band taking the field?)
Add some cheerleaders--the dance team was trying but maybe some folks who know how to do it
Give the crowd a cue to scream, like when they were playing the last second tie hail mary set of downs
