that he's confident there's going to be a surprise commitment tomorrow, and from somebody prominent on the radar, too. He was careful not to give any other hints, but I've been listening to him for a long time and the guy does his homework.

Signing Day Schedule
Rivals provides a helpful timeline for Signing Day announcements:
9:00 AM – Pearlie Graves LOI. (Presser at noon, so we might not be 100% until then but in all likelihood we'll know good or bad by then.)
11:00 AM – Deerfield Beach duo (Denard Robinson and Adrian Witty) announce.
1:30 PM – DeQuinta Jones announces and sends in LOI.
3:30 PM – Je'Ron Stokes (tentative) announces.
No word on Je'Ron Stokes, but that's looking decidedly unfriendly about now. [UPDATE: apparently it's 3:30 and we might not be dead. Viva recruiting!] Quinton Washington already committed and Sam Montgomery already cut M, so those five are the only guys we're waiting on unless there's some sleeper or snake oil going on.
I will be out of pocket until about noon tomorrow, unfortunately, but Tim from Varsity Blue will be operating the levers here. We'll have a CIL at around 11 or 12; this one will be a more heavily moderated Q&A-style one, not a free-for-all. TomVH may stop in.
Could it be Nu'Keese Richardson?

Webb made it clear on the radio that it wasn't a new "off the board" guy. If you look at the ones still on the board, Stokes is the only one whose likelihood of signing with U-M had faded.
Does anyone possibly have a link to what Sam Webb said about the surprise commit? It's not on the recruiting round up.
but the way Webb sounded I got the feeling it was somebody who had once been a prime target but was since thought to be headed somewhere else. Not sure Stokes fits that, but now I'm totally speculating out my ass here. Maybe Rojo's mom decided that Michigan was the right place after all. Or Antonio Bass is giving it another go.
I would guess Chriss Freeman, but the guy is far from elite.
maybe its one of NC's 300 recruits
just to handle the commit overflow from UNC, and will be located in Little Prong, NC. The mascot name is the Horned Prongs.
I wonder how UNC will bring this class in.
29 commits (only 2 early enrollees) and they're trying to add 2 more big names tomorrow
I know Marcus Hall committed to OSU and eliminated us twice, but his teammate (Edwards??) said he would shock the world on signing day. Could he be the person to announce to us? That would be the biggest dick move ever to OSU but i'd love it.
but Mike Edwards said that Marcus Hall would shock the world, which he already most certainly did not.
I'll be on the CIL.
For every guy you look at the computer and go 'whoa, HE is coming to Michigan' donate a pint of blood for the UM/MSU Blood Battle on the UM Campus (locations in the diary post in the upper right). as I'm expecting a commitment of 36 surprise recruits, i've been eating cookies and drinking orange juice for 8 weeks straight. so i figure it should work out cuz that's how it works, right?
This conclusively proves that either Tom Lemming is completely divorced from reality or is purposefully trying to smear Michigan and Rich Rodriguez.
This is from the linked article at right under mgo.licio.us about the epidemic of decommits:
"Everyone is getting de-commits and they're getting them in larger numbers than ever," said Lemming, who serves as CBS College Sports' football recruiting expert and oversees Prep Football Report. "Michigan is looking at eight to 10 kids de-committing."
This is one of the biggest crocks of shit I've ever seen in a sports article.
Lemming has inflated this:
so far there is:
Newsome
Beaver
Fera
Peace
Barnes
Possibly Pearlie Graves and Dequinta Jones
That would make 7.
I would not count Campbell because he recommitted.
But a stretch argument could be made for 8 if Jones and Graves do not come here. 10 is a huge stretch.
Glad to see that all of these kids aren't making their announcements in the middle of the day while they're "in school".
