The nutty Michigan coverage isn't so much about Harbaugh as it is a signal to the Big Ten that Fox wants to party.
if thats the decision he felt he needed to make thats fine. I am just glad that every other post on message boards won't be McGuffie rumors anymore.
Good for him. Honestly, I harbor no ill will toward the kid... I know that if I'd gone through everything he did a thousand miles from home in a strange, cold place I don't know I'd want to get out as soon as possible. Wish him luck wherever he goes.
What did he "go through"?
Concussions, losing a family member, the depression that comes from said concussions, a losing football season...
Ugh, that sucks. I know that running back is a position of great depth, so this isn't the worst loss ever, but I was really excited to see what McGuffie had to bring the next couple years. Good luck elsewhere, Sam
Best of luck to him...
I never wanted him anyway....
He wasn't Michigan Man material...
He was a little fairy... who jumps over defenders? Gay.
Oh boy, you know people are going to think you're serious.
I was hoping he'd be able to ride it out, I think we could have flourished in RRod's system given time. Hope he does well wherever he goes.
Haha, as soon as I posted that I was afraid of the barrage of idiots ripping on me for saying that. Thank goodness enough people went along.
Clearly, not a Michigan man.
But in all seriousness I wish him the best of luck.
I know it was a joke, but I feel it's worth saying. I think McGuffie is more of a Michigan Man than half the people ever given that designation. We're talking about a kid who, days after his grandmother's funeral with lingering depression and injuries, suited up against Ohio State and left it all on the field. He is a tough son of a bitch, and I for one will always cheer for him.
So will I. He is easily one of my favorite white running backs in college football.
Definitely in my top ten favorite current white running backs in college football.
I'm not sure if I can name 10 white running backs in college football....
Are we sure about the depression? Not that it really matters. I just don't think it's fair to say a kid had depression without really knowing. And I though it was his great grandmother that died.
McGuffie seemed like one of those freaky guys who always seems to go somewhere else, and I was thrilled to have him at U^M (much like Freshman Stevie was the kind of return guy who's usually seen torching Michigan ... I'll never forgive Gittleson for slowing that Stevie down, but that's another story - where was I?)
Anyway, put me down as one more wishing Sam the best of luck, and here's hoping he's had his last concussion.
He was MSU's sloppy seconds anyway. They could have had him, but they passed him onto us (just like Cameron Gordon). It says so on the Spartan Tailgate message board.
i bet a lot of people are going to take this the wrong way. BUT a lot of people really liked mcguffie because they really, really wanted to see him do well more so than probably any other guy on our team. Most other freshmen wouldn't get this type of love & admiration after leaving their program. how many people were sad to see artis chambers(i know not a fresh), weatherspoon, or taylor hill leave? with that said, i'll miss having him since i wanted to know what he'd be capable of in the next few years in maize and blue.
Chanmbers, Weatherspoon and Hill weren't youtube sensations.
you speak the truth
If Lonelygirl15 commits and plays a year of football for Michigan, then transfers, we will feel the same way.
I'll miss Chambers only because of an awful joke.
If he ever legally changed his name he'd be the Artis formerly known as Chambers.
Horrible I know, but it will never be remotely topical enough to mention again.
I was going to ban like four people in this thread and then I was like "ohhhhh."
the offseason provides zero excitement for us
Clarification: I love you Sam!
on a completely different note, why do people say 'no homo'? i only think someone is gay once they want other people to not think their gay. haha this isn't anything against you LA, but i just hear this all the time.
"no homo" is funnier than "But keep in mind that my love for you is strictly platonic."
First time I heard "No Homo" really coined was by Juelz Santana in "Santana's Town."
"Po' Po' and the cops again..No homo but they cockin' them, 4 4 glocks and them..."
Anyway, like most funny sayings it just rolls off the tongue naturally...er...no homo.
I think a proper example of using "no homo" would be:
I'm sad that McGuffie is leaving, and I'm listening to Justin Timberlake's - Gone....no homo. ???
I think it's more like this:
"Hey Tom, that shirt looks really great on you. No homo."
So I wouldn't be able to respond with:
"Thanks, I got it at Banana Republic...no homo." ?
**I'm just kidding by the way, for anyone that can't sense sarcasm**
Tom - the powers of the "no homo" only reach so far. For example, you can't say: I would totally give Sam McGuffie a blow job if he stayed at Michigan. No homo.
Yes you can, if you genuinely think it's in the best interest of the Michigan football team. Take one (or a few) for the team.
So if I give another man a blow job for some personal gain (convince a guy to stay at UM, get a promotion, drugs) and I don't actually enjoy it, it's not gay?
This could help clear up a lot of shit.
as long as you don't lick his balls
That's fair. Are these rules posted somewhere? Just in case I don't have access to MGoBlog when a "maybe homo" moment arises.
Okay licking balls is okay. But licking balls at the top of Tiger Stadium is totally gay.
Not sure about a complete list, but I do know that its not gay as long as you think about a girl during it.
HOLY HELL you guys are nuts today. Pun intended.
THAT'S HOW YOU DO A FUCKING PUN DANTONIO YOU DUMB FUCK.
That was my favorite Dantonio moment. But I'm disappointed none of the reporters at that press conference had a follow-up along the lines of 'Coach, can you explain what your definition of a pun is?'
Did you have an extra cup of coffee this morning? You, my friend, are in rare form today.
Yeah, you're right. I need to settle down. Long night last night. Listen to nothing I say until Dec 13th.
I wouldn't say he's in "rare form". I always find LA witty and refreshing. No homo.
Aww, Chris, let's hang out sometime. There's a couch with your name on it next time you're in Hermosa Beach.
