RR vs LC Recruiting

Check me on this . . .

Doesn't it seem that RR is recruiting harder in December and January than LC ever did? I do not recall that LC ever had this many kids visiting this late in the process.

My feeling was that LC was basically done in November and just worked on holding on thru signing day.

Absolutely. Lloyd Carr never recruited once the season was over. It turns out, he never even liked football. He was just in it for the chicks. That's why all our recruiting classes ended up being only about 10-12 people, because he'd just halt recruiting after the OSU game and start making homemade pornos.

I can actually attest to this. Some of you wondered how I made the connections I have. I'm not proud to say that part of it is from producing and directing one of these pornos.

Also have to take into account that RR last season only had those 2 months to recruit so he had some serious work to do to get "his kids". And after this past season it also might take some extra effort so the results may seem skewed.

L.C. could easily attract players with Michigan's pro-style offense. A pro style QB like Mallet or Henne commit to Michigan because they know it will help them make it to the next level. R.R. on the other hand is trying to quickly change the face of this offense before time runs out. Therefore, he's left running around the country, trying to find the "Pat White" factor.

While anyone, even a tOFU coach, would love to have a "Pat White" factor come to their school, I think RR is doing what he needs to do to get the offense where he wants it, and I don't believe that that means a run first type offense. I think that because he had PW and SS at WVU for three years, and that their rushing attack was always very good, and always dangerous to opposing teams, it DOESN'T meant that that is what his offense is really all about. This year we threw more under RR than they ever did at WVU under him, but that was probably more due to the qb's we had. I believe that he really likes a balanced offense, the difference between his offense and others just being how he gets the ball into the playmakers hands.

R.R. is a division one football coach, so he obviously realizes the importance of a balanced offense. That being said, he also wants to win. When you have P.W. and S.S. juking defenders out of their pads, you don't worry about balance.
