Don't jump yet.

They haven't re-ranked them since the Elite 11. They just took the national rankings and meshed them all together.

because those rankings were released right before the elite 11 camp. Rivals said Gardner would be making a jump in the next release of rankings

I should have read the

I should have read the premise, "The Michigan Preseason Top 35 will be changing after the Elite 11 out in California where quarterbacks Robert Bolden and Devin Gardner outperformed Joe Boisture. Rivals.com recruiting analyst Greg Ladky said, "quarterbacks highlight the top of Michigan's rankings. Three of them participated in the Elite 11 quarterback camp. Those performances are not factored into these rankings, but all three are among the best in the nation. Boisture (No. 2) has the edge over Devin Gardner and Robert Bolden.""

Green wall?

No, seriously, it's probably because Dantonio manipulates the media. Don't fall into his trap.

Texas?

Are my eyes deceiving me... or are Hopkins and Drake both missing from Texas top 100?

Ouch!

I saw that too. I'm not super surprised about Drake, but I thought Hopkins would be near a 4 star. Guess not.

The biggest knock on Hopkins

The biggest knock on Hopkins is his speed (Which he's been working hard on this summer), and the fact that he's gone to zero camps. Otherwise if he had gone to a camp or two I'm sure he'd be a four star.

Speaking of in-state

Speaking of in-state recruiting. I was just in my car and (unfortunately) I was listening to the huge show with various MSU sports employees past and present. Besides the little digs at UofM and Rodriquez that the Sparties couldn't resist to take on air, they kept repeating that Rodriquez has no connections with in state HS coaches and therefore Dantonio is dominating in state once again.

It was also said that you have to do well in your own state to be successful and that Michigan has shot itself in its foot by not hiring someone with a Bo connection and Michigan won't get better until a few years when we do have someone with a Bo connection.

I can't believe the arrogance and propaganda from the Sparties these days.

Dantonio has been out recruited by UofM every year thus far and all signs point to that happening again. But they find some hollow point and beat it to death and people buy into it.

You have to do well in your own state to be successful? ND must have won all those games with their predominantly Indiana roster.

No doubt. That was the first thing that I thought of too.

The fact of the matter is we do well nationally, including the state of Michigan.

What's All This Hubbub?

I thought rankings and starz don't matter no more???
Remeber: These are Super Secret Galacticon Recruits that ONLY work in the New Michigan Attack, and only Rich Rodriguez knows about them!

If Hopkins or Drake get their fourth starz, the whole thing is gonna BLOW! LOOK OUT!

You'd be much more subtle if your new name wasn't merely the same sound as your old name, coming out of the other end (and less smell of poo). You lack of faith in the Michigan recruiting, additionally, is a dead giveaway.

What i would like to see is a

What i would like to see is a ratio of instate recruits offered to instate recruits signed. Michigan has to dominate state because M only offers a handful of people they want and then go out of state.
