Recruiting Tracker - Home Stretch

Submitted by umhero on

[Ed-Seth: This is now a wiki. I moved this to the sidebar under useful stuff and changed "Interest" into the MGo-Approved recruiting faces. A reminder of what they mean:

Icon Name Meaning
Sad Josh The genre of player with unrequited interest in Michigan. Unlikely to receive offers; most will eventually fade off the list and go to Duke or Michigan State Purdue or something.
Nefarious Eduardo Player is a longshot. Either they've declared someone else a leader publicly or popular opinion holds that they're likely to go to another school.
Data Either no opinion or Michigan is one of a fairly even group of chasing schools. Players in this category maintain no leader or change their leader frequently. The default category for players that we don't know much about yet.
Happy Teeth Players who have Michigan in a small leading group or have Michigan as a tenuous favorite. Should be regarded as a good shot, not a slam dunk.
Mr. Blue Player is either a verbal or is expected to be one sooner or later. Players with this designation are 65%+ to be Michigan commits.

I really believe that once Harbaugh and staff start the in home visits, immediate results will follow. A huge benefit that often goes overlooked is age / energy. Almost our entire staff is full of young, energetic, intense guys. On the recruiting trail younger coaches can relate to the current generation in a better way, which often leads to valuable relationships with eventual commits. I suspect the second the dead period ends, our staff will start slaying the recruiting trail. I believe the class will finish nicely, but I am much more excited to see what Jim does with 2016.

While the large majority of players sign on signing day... I think it's important that we keep in mind that signing day is not a deadline. Recruits are free to put their decision off until after the 4th.

"I'm still 100-percent committed to Wisconsin, but I'm keeping all options open until Signing Day," said Moorman, ranked a four-star recruit by Scout.com and a three-star prospect by Rivals.com. "If Michigan comes calling I'll definitely listen. (Michigan incoming recruit) Alex Malzone keeps calling and texting me, saying I need to come to Michigan.

"There's been nothing official and I haven't heard from anyone on (Michigan's) staff, but if they called I'd seriously listen to what they had to say. I know Jim Harbaugh's a great coach. It would be an honor to get an offer from Michigan.

Out of curiosity, how are you assigning warm/cool/etc. evaluations?  Based on your own interpretation of tweets/articles/roundups/SOURCES, or are you pulling the evaluation from another source?

If you got something to contribute about UM football, stick around.

But keep the Buckeye crowing/rooting to yourself.  On this page, that's trolling.  i wouldn't go to a Buckeye blog and start telling them about how UM is back and is going to stomp them, etc..

I submitted Equanimeous St. Brown to the Name of the Year contest last year and he made it to the Elite Eight if memory serves!

What I'm saying is, he should be our number one priority for this class.

Harbaugh must control the weather. Latest reports seem to indicate highs about 40 Saturday and Sunday with some clouds on Sunday.

Couldn't ask for much better in January.
