Now the season is over, we can all put our focus into recruiting again. My fav. time of year.
I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF YOU SONNY
I think that has to be the lone silver lining of not being bowl eligible; it's essentially a 45 day head start on focused recruiting.
You like recruiting more than the football?
no, but I like recruiting better than seeing Sheridan on Saturdays.
And don't forget the snake oil!!!!!
My favorite part of NCAA 200x is recruiting. Take a shitty team, turn it into a top prestige powerhouse, then start over again. Also, when taking over a new team, picking a new playstyle and sticking to it is fun.
Examples: Making Duke good with the Spread Option.
Turning LSU (was horrible in game) around with Mike Leach's offense.
Ohhh wait, we're talking real football? I've got nothing.
awwww yes. I used to always take Eastern Michigan straight to the top! Of course, I would win the MNC about 5 times with Michigan first, get bored, and rock some EMU Eagle magic.
I know what you mean. At Michigan, I made it a point to recruit good LBs and Safeties. They've salvaged many games for me. I'm in year 6 of the Dynasty and am looking for a SEC offer.
So, and this is where I reveal my shameful past...I'm on year 14 of a dynasty...of NCAA 2004...for Gamecube...that I now play on the Wii. 4 championships with UM, 4 with Duke, 4 with LSU (yes I picked LSU last December when we were almost getting Miles) and now on year 1 of Texas. After year 4 with Texas I'll have to pick a Pac-10 team. I'm leaning toward Oregon or Arizona.
I've found two recruiting keys in that game. First, you have to have a good OG and OC. Otherwise you can't run up the middle and the pocket will collapse from the middle when you try to pass. For defense, good safeties and CBs are really all you need as long as they are fast.
Hilariously enough, I've actually tried to use some of the strategy gsimmons has been teaching. And it works really, really well. Doing things like actively trying to scrape a linebacker down the line can be really effective. On offense, audible hot routes to utilize RB/TE blocking when they are in pre-snap route running can be exceedingly helpful.

Holy shit dude same here. I turned many down after winning with Michigan, and I got screwed out of the MNC after going undefeated and winning the Big 12 with Texas and only got an offer from the Suckeyes. I hope Vanderbilt offers...
