Quite Possibly the Most Important Photo You Will Ever See Comment Count

This was sent to me from HTTV volunteer copy editor Becky Long, who in 1998 was on the sidelines as UM cheerleader Becky Long. The wide-angle:

Click gets you full size, which is just 300kb or so (to a 1998 hard drive that's huge) but plenty for your need. That need is to cast this image in your head until the most Brady Hoke thing ever has claimed its rightful place next to Don't Make Lloyd Angry, and the Bo-Canham-Bump Press Conference in the Hall of Before-He-Was…

To my knowledge, until now the best Hokepoint from the Before-Time known to the internet was that overused thing with the uncharacteristic headset. Bonus: We now have a photo to use when we talk about Rob Renes and genetic nose tackles.

That is all.

Wow! Is that...MAIZE they are wearing?  I almost forgot what that looked like. FWIW, I still like the bright yellow they don right now, but would not mind if they went back to maize.

Compact, thick shoulders, thick waist and legs, bendable profile (for pad level). Look at his body and then imagine the kind of leverage he has when he's up under someone's shoulder pads. Guy can wedge himself into an O-line like a human doorstop. Ondre Pipkins has similar proportions, but is all around larger.

People (not you, but general fans) forget how good Renes was, he was the anchor, without him that '97 doesn't go...period.

I'll put it this way to the youngsters. What David Molk was to the offense/offensive line his senior year, Rob Renes was to the defense/defensive line during his days at Michigan.
