Professional Hottie Says Tate To Transfer Comment Count

Brian

UPDATE: Professional hottie's tweet has disappeared. You can safely ignore the below, I think.

Um… so this person…

melanie_collins

…has a twitter that says this:

Very reliable source telling me Tate Forcier requested a transfer from #Michigan this AM. NOT yet confirmed, will update as I know more.

I'd link it but I'm getting fail whales and am suffused with an overwhelming ennui.

Not to disparage smoking hot bikini models or anything, but I'd probably take Mike Rothstein's word over hers. Then again she has done some sideline work for the Big Ten Network—the entire reason this is credible enough to bother with—and Rothstein is not banging out strenuous denials and this is Michigan post-Bo so it's probably true and all she left out its that he's hiring someone to bash Denard's knee in, Tonya Harding style.

the following is info I have from sources:

Yes, Tate has been practicing extensively with the 3s - so did Albert Haynesworth

Yes Gardner looks good

Yes Denard looks better

No, a leader is not known for the same reasons we all know from last year. That's not coach speak.

The notion he would quit when it's far from obvious who the starter is, not to mention he could resume the reins and "prove everyone wrong" should Denard struggle in the beginning of the season, makes this horribly unlikely.

Couple that with the fact his dad knows nothing on the topic and dislikes the notion of a transfer...

If this case is true, the utter resentment that would fall upon him would be stunning.

But last year, when the rumors hit about tate being upset (possibly transfer) about not starting for the osu game, I said this kid isn't going to last at michigan.

Is tate going to win us a national championship? Probably not.

Don't get me wrong, tate is a good ball player, but He isn't the answer and he knows it. Why waste his time?

...ha ha ha.  Are you kidding me!?!  The kid had a pretty bad shoulder injury last year, and had he been healthy we likely would have won at least one more game, if not two.  He is a player, and from the above picture of Tate-Fresh high steppin' I'd venture to say he's a playa.  He has a lot to offer this team.

That said, if he gets out competed for the starting job, so be it.  It is good for UM to have competition at all positions, especially QB.

"Is tate going to win us a national championship? Probably not....Why waste his time?"

That is ridiculous.  He'll get playing time this year.  He'll contribute this year.

Oh, and one more thing...

PLAYING FOOTBALL FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN IS NOT A WASTE OF ANYONE'S TIME!!

i'm half excited to have a couple more drinks and sleep in until 10-11, wake up and find out if this was all bull or not. should be obvious by tomorrow's practice...

I just spoke w/Tate's uncle and he said it's not true.

I don't know how much more I can take of this RR crap, he better win at least 8 games this year

or I want his ass gone!!!!!

The QB race is wide open and there is plenty of practice time left for Tate to take the lead as starter!  He's going to see plenty of playing time this season.

She is hot, but assuming this source is wrong, she is toast.

Tate can be a great QB at Michigan.  I hope that he lights up PSU for 4 TDs as a subtle payback.

I also hope that I am gently nestled by her bosom.

that some dude that works at UM wants to get in her pants and told her that he heard from a source close to someone that a source close to tate's girlfriend (or whoeva) told him that tate was thinking about leaving. she ran with it and here we are.

that being said, can anyone honestly see tate staying if he is 2nd string?

a) If I were Tate, I'd stay. Of anyone, Tate should know that Denard could get hurt, or maybe doesn't work out quite as good in a game as he has in the controlled environment of practice or in the Spring Game (where your tacklers are your friends). Even if Tate is not the starter for UConn, he could very well be for the meat of the Big Ten schedule.

b) She was cooking two lobsters for dinner. In the spirit of brotherhood, hopefully that dude had a nice evening ...

with the best.  I don't see Tate leaving just because he is facing a challenge.  Every solid program has competition at all positions.  So what is is going to do ... go to another great program and run into competition and transfer again.? Go Blue !!!

of us that listen to sports talk radio, get ready for a long day here in the metro detroit area because of this... the whole "where there is smoke, there is fire" argument is going to be brought up today... along with the rumors of tate wanting to transfer from last year and the issue of his 2 older brothers transfering when things didn't work out for them... i really hope that dave brandon has made a call to BTN about this chick and that she loses her job over this and the same goes for the tool that thought it was a good idea to tell her something like this...

Although possible, it's too early to consider transfering unless it is CLEAR that he has moved from starter to third string in two weeks. He is still a potential starter for this season. Tate may have cried to someone about the competition and that person ran with it, but I wouldn't buy into it until it actually happens. Now with that being said, I don't see Tate as a person who thrives on competition and wouldn't put it past him to transfer in the future if he loses to one of the other QB's.

amazingly hot, can we cover her up a bit...I look like a perv at work.

Also, I'm sure this chick didn't pull this out of thin air. Could this be an example of the insider espionage that is going on at Michigan (rumor about Tate transferring)? Maybe Brandon hasn't rid all of the traitors yet?

Obviously if Tate were to transfer it means he does not want to compete against Denard and Devin.  Can't he just wait to do it until next year when we don't need him as much?  with all of this negativity I sure could use a "100% Pure Columbian Awesome" post right about now!

We all know this a bullshit story.  The only reason I went through the four pages of comments is to see if there were any more photos!

Tate will gain a lot of confidence and respect from his teammates when he goes through this off-season nonsense and steps up and produces this season -- regardless of whether it is as starter or in relief.  The kid is a solid playmaker who had even sober observers think we had a potential Heisman candidate on our hands early last year.  That talent is still there. If he is healthy, if he is confident, if his teammates respect him, and if he continues to be pushed by Devin and Denard, then he is going to have a tremendous run at Michigan.

When is the last time we were this stacked at QB?  Tate, I am still a fan.

Took a look at her most recent tweets, and it screams of someone trying to be a big shot who is miffed that she was called out on her low-rate "journalism."  This whole fiasco sounds like the "I'm not saying, I'm just saying" caveat that people use when they want to spread a rumor without, you know, nutting/ovary-ing up to it.

For all the joys and advances that technology have provided to mankind, the ability for anyone with a mobile app and a twitter account to generate 200+ comment threads (and terrify a fan base) because of a rumor is something I could do without.  At least with a traditional news source, there would be some vetting, questions asked like "you sure the guy made eye contact at any point while telling you this, or did he look like this:

Maybe she went all Russian Spy on Tate and got him in bed where most boys will say anything. "Tell me you're transferring Tater. Tell it to me..."

Hell Facebook had a Russian spy why couldn't twitter?

Edit:: This is right up the WLA's alley.

Melanie is a bikini model.  I propose that for every good play made by the secondary this year another bikini photo of Melanie gets posted to this site.  I love Michigan, but let's be honest there probably won't be many photos needed.  As for all the bad plays the secondary makes this year, well I've made my own personal drinking game for that.  I recommend you all do the same.  Go Blue.

She keeps going back to the 'not yet confirmed' part of the tweet...what about the 'will update as I know more' part?  Did I miss it?  Seems like she went straight from reporting it to defending her mistake.  It would be nice if there was tweet in between: 'Report was false.  Sorry about that'

I like the fact that before this probably 80% of the Michigan fanbase would have penisbanged her repeatedly. Now 99% of us would rather hit her with a wooden mallet.
