NewsCenter 16 has learned that officials of the Big East did not think the touchdown pass from Jimmy Clausen to Armando Allen in the first quarter of Saturday's game should have been overturned.
The Big 10 officiating crew ruled that Allen did not step on the sideline but a request by Michigan to have the play reviewed resulted in no touchdown. ND settled fior a field goal in the 38-34 loss.
Notre Dame uses Big East officials so that is why that conference reviews the video sent by the Irish football office for grading.
It will be a Big 10 crew on Saturday when the 1-1 Irish host Michigan State
