So, forgive me for probably eliciting crappy memories, but I was browsing rivals recruiting rankings and came across the 2007 rankings. How did we lose the number eight player, and number one wide receiver in the country, out of Michigan to SC? Now, granted I understand it is USC, but I didn't follow recruiting that year, so I don't know what went down.
OT: What happened with Ronald Johnson?
He's a good OWR, and his mom apparently hated the idea of him going to Michigan. At least that's what I heard.
His mom didn't want him coming here because her friends told her Michigan plays "slow" football. Whatever that means.
are also rumors of Fab Five-ish happenings following his visit to USC. but I haven't ever seen anyone lay out the whole story. something about a $2500 pin striped suit.
That booty of hers shaking in his face in the hollywood hills helped to make up his mind.
in the words of a certain prep football columnist in the area pete "slipped him a duffel bag of $20s"
/no idea if that's true or not. That columnist just used that phrase dozens of times a week when I talked with him.
Wasn't he being recruited by everyone at CB? I thought that getting Donovan Warren slightly mitigated the impact of losing him (although it would have been awesome to get both).
Then he was practically USC's best WR in 2008. Is that part of why he went to USC because they were giving him more of a shot to play offense?
I was always under the impression that Ronald Johnson was being recruited to be Michigan's next Charles Woodson. I think they wanted him primarily as a CB and to be able to take periodic snaps on offense as well.
If Rojo hadn't been bought by USC, he would've been Michigan's starting free safety last year.
I've had enough of O$U, and now there will be even more "U$C."
Pretty $oon, all we will be $eeing is F$U, M$U, $yracuse Univer$ity and every other $tupid thing the$e guy$ can come up with.
We recruited him as a CB and he wanted to play WR. USC offered him as a WR and he is currently a stud for them at that position. I think he also returns kicks.
Anyone who says he was bought off has some serious sour grapes.
Exactly how many allegations will you ignore? Lemme guess, you think OSU is clean too?
Provide any evidence whatsoever that RoJo was "bought" by USC.
Well, the generally, the null hypothesis is the most likely outcome when a situation turns out to be "normal," and we all know that Michigan = good and U$C = evil. Therefore, bought.
Is that with him going to USC he was successfully able to persuade Nick Perry to make the move there too. Without Rojo, I doubt perry would have ever gone to USC.
I played against him when he was both a CB/WR.. the kid was sick. He's USC's slot guy, or #2 guy to Damian Williams, but he's a hell of a deep threat. And a really good returner.
