Is there a way to stay logged in and not have to go through it every time I want to post something?
at least it's not just us?
I use firefox and never get logged out. Also, saving your username/password should cut down on that time as well...
I use IE and I never get logged out.
I've use Firefox for some years now, and I never used to get logged out; but since Brian implemented the point system I get logged out every time I close Firefox. Could be a coincidence though.
That works for a lot of things.
If you are using firefox (or IE, I suppose) make sure it's not clearing your private data when you close your browser. I'm pretty sure that will prevent you from staying logged in.
and I don't ever get logged out. and if I do, the save pass/login thing takes care of it.
and yeah check your "clear private data upon exit" settings. or better yet leave that setting intact and make that your porn surfing browser. that way you don't have to worry about get logged out of this site trying to cover your tracks.
logged out no matter what i use
I only get logged out if I log in from a different location.
I get logged out from time to time, but since i use firefox, my username and password stay int he boxes so all i have to go it hit the log in button
Download Firefox and use it if you haven't already because it's superior to most browsers. It will also solve some other problems you may be having.
Everyone claims that Firefox offers some magical advantages over IE, but having used both, I've yet to identify any of them. Meanwhile, I've noticed that Firefox uses an absolute shitload of my computer's memory - way more than any other browser.
Adblock is the main reason I use Firefox now.
I originally switched because I liked the tabs before IE came out with them.
Did you try any extensions? I've gotten so used to the ones I have installed that I hate browsing with just a vanilla Firefox install, let alone IE. Besides the extensions, IE has definitely caught up to Firefox (IE6 didn't even have tabs, it just wasn't comparable to Firefox). But the extensions are the magical advantage over IE for me.
Although now that Google Chrome has extension capabilities, I might have to give it a try after giving it a bit of time for developers to replicate my favorite Firefox extensions.
I'm intrigued, can you elaborate? Seriously, I am.
Firefox is far more standards-compliant than IE8 (MS's most standard-compliant browser to-date) is.
Make life easier for your web developers. Use Firefox or complain to Microsoft about their browser not adhering to agreed-upon CSS, HTML, XML, and XHTML standards.
Firefox also has a built-in firewall on its browser
