Being from hell as I am, I normally purchase tickets to home games online, mostly on ebay before I make my way up to Ann Arbor to catch a ball game (usually three or four times a year,). I was wondering if it is in fact actually cheaper to buy tickets from a scalper prior to the game once in Ann Arbor. Location within the stadium is not an issue. All opinions our valued.
edit: tickets are typically for a foursome.

That depends on the game and, since you're looking for a group of four, your patience. There tend to be a lot of pairs available; since I've never looked for more than two tickets together, I'm not sure about getting four.
I haven't gotten to as many games the last couple years -- it gets expensive, even just buying cheap tickets on the street -- but I spent several seasons buying tickets on the street, and I didn't have a problem finding tickets below face value for all but the biggest games (OSU and ND were the games that gave me problems [high prices and/or marginal availability], but that was back when ND wasn't hopelessly moribund).
So, to summarize: I can't speak for finding groups of four, but I do know there tend to be plenty of tickets for sale on the street for most games.

I've done it both ways, Ebay prior & GameDay streetmen.
Ebay prior is safe & secure - but will cost more.
GameDay street tix will be more cost-effective, but in order to get 4 together you need to be there 2hours+ prior to kickoff. They tend to get broken up into pairs.
Depending where you tailgate, other neighbors around you often have overage, eliminating the dudes on bikes.
