Call me lame, But I never understood running from the police for whatever you have done! My sole reasoning behind that is you die, or get one of the most severe ass whippings ever!!! Well looks like this guy got "FRICASSEED" in his truck. Any thoughts?
OT Police Chase
You're going to cause a lot of fear that a "police chase" involved an M player or recruit.
That fear will turn to anger and chastising that this needs an "OT" descriptor.
Anyway, my thoughts on the story: even though it's completely ridiculous, the police will probably get sued.
The police can't be sued unless shown to have acted negligently. It's the same reason why if you and your buddy commit a crime, and your buddy gets shot and killed by the police, YOU are charged with his death.
The police won't lose the suit unless they acted negligently... however, won't stop them from getting sued.
The trick is to lose the first cop by turning a lot rather than going fast in a straight line. Handbrake turns are your friend. Then find a garage or driveway, park and steal another car really fast.
Easier said than done, but I like your thinking. Are you the driver from Transporter?
No, but I am The Stig.
I just find a Pay 'n Spray
I'm new so I'm not privy to the etiquette yet! Please enlighten me!
above. I posted that to help you out. It'll tell you what is off topic and what is not.
Also, as a point of advice, check the MGoBoard recent posts (about 2 pages worth) before posting a duplicate message. Most importantly, keep in mind that if you have found a piece of Michigan news on the Interwebs that is more than 6 hours long, you should assume it's already been posted here. Search for the article on the Board, if it's not there then post it.
And, if you do post a duplicate post, expect to get heat for it.
This is not 'Nam. There are rules!!! Jk.
I won't make this mistake again!
Friendly tip! Reply Button is your friend!
Have a pleasant day!
opportunity to make a suggestion. Several of the other forums I post on have one thread for stuff like this. One of them is called 'Random Observations', another one is called 'Stuff not important enough to get its own thread', and one forum has two threads - one called 'bitching' and the other 'anti-bitching'
There's lots of things that may be interesting to read about but don't deserve their own thread. And it would be nice to have a thread to, well - make a random observation. The only problem I can see with that working here is the way the reply system is set up. When you reply to someone it post directly underneath the initial post you're replying to instead of using a quote feature and putting your post where it should be - at the end of the thread. So if you had a thread that got to be too many pages, you'd have to wade thru every page to see every new post (or - I could just have no idea how this forum works and like a dumbass have been going through the entire thread every time to see a new post)
So there - that's my first random observation.
That was one of the first 10 or so threads ever started. The OT stuff like this shouldn't exist during the season, which more or less starts this week. The board should focus on Michigan sports, or at least one of the other topics set out in mgo-ethics.
I will maintain focus. Appropriate topic areas for mgoblog in descending order of relevance:
- Michigan sports.
- Sports media; print, broadcast, and blog.
- Opponent news.
- General NCAA news.
- Other sports of interest (Pistons, USMNT soccer mostly)
- Dancing bananas, Walken 2008, etc.
The last on that list is small jokes Brian works into his longer posts, not individual posts about Dancing bananas, Walken 2008, etc.
Enjoy this type of post now, because they should be nearly phased out in the next 2-3 weeks with rampant negbanging.
You can change your threading settings if you prefer, but it still won't show any replies at the top.
This is going to sound dumb, but wouldn't it be 'cool' (lack of a better word) to get in a police chase and actually escape and never be caught. Now, that would be a hell of a story.
If I am ever rich beyond all imagining, I want to get a section of roads blocked off, rig cars with racing safety equipment, hire some drivers to play the other motorists, and the local police to chase me around that area, just for the thrill.
most of our cars (domestic) are governed at 160kms per hour so out running the cops is next to impossible. On motorbikes however, they are not. My friend and I were driving on one of the local freeways late one night and were doing about 140kph (limit is 100). We passed an entrance ramp to the freeway and low and behold a cop was coming on just as we were passing it. We both had plate covers over our licence plates that blacked out when you flick a switch (which we obviously used right away) and gunned it. My bike would top out at about 240 but my friends was a little faster (I remembr him saying he could reach 260). Needless to say the cop wasn't behind us long and we hit the next exit ramp never to see him again. It was pretty exciting though.....Most of my police chases were on foot through back yards and woods. I always got caught on those ones though. Stories of a misspent youth.
There was chase here (Omaha) a couple weeks ago where a guy on a hayabusa got away from the patrol cars... unfortunately for him the cops had a plane tracking him from above that he didn't know about and it directed them to the house he ran into after parking his bike inside the garage. Said he was going 188mph at one point.
