landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
OT: Joel Zumaya to the DL (Shocker)
awww... no more 2-0 and 3-1 fastballs down the middle for the other team to hit out.
I thought he hurt his neck when it snapped around to watch that ball texiera hit.
I luv Zumaya's heat but when hitters like Tex or anyone else get good wood on a 100mph fastball...that balls flies off the bat pretty damn fast.
Detroit starting pitching continues to do well but if the bullpen cant hold the lead or the offense start putting up runs, Tigers will find themselves back a couple of games in a week or so.
At least he will not blow any more saves/leads.
Million dollar arm, ten cent head.
The Tigers might want to think about putting him on the trading block. He's pitched like crap this year (and last), but he's young and throws hard. That alone gives him some value.
They're just giving Zumaya 15 days to clear his head. Zumaya needs to stop watching the radar gun and start pitching. Bring that fast ball down into the High 90's and get some control over it. Also, it wouldn't hurt if he started having confidence in his other pitches. Start throwing his changeup and Curve so hitters are not sitting on his fastball.
