It's Election Day! Get out there and vote!
OT: Election Day
Absentee ballot FTW!
Voted early (Ohio). It was easy. Every state should do it.
waited in line for over an hour...blah
That's nothing, consider yourself lucky. THREE hour wait at my polling place in NYC. Just a giant clusterfuck all around.
I had only a half-hour wait. Hooray for living in a smaller town!
No line to check registration, no line to get ballot code, no line for booths. the longest part was using the ballot machine. if id voted straight ticket it would have been less than 3 minutes.
Do some states still do that? Here in Illinois, they got rid of it a while ago. Makes sense to me to make people care enough about an election to actually press each button/color in each box/punch each chad.
I do live in a small town, and it was still an hour here. Hard to believe. I'm glad there's good turnout, but that's about the only thing I'm happy about with this election.
Ohio messed up the gf's absantee ballot.
we have vote by mail, exclusively. Voted on Sunday; no muss, no fuss.
I do miss the mechanical voting machines with the lever and the individual switches; but no line is a nice aspect.
I voted absentee in Michgan a few weeks ago since I am going to schoo lin Ohio. I will be nervous and giddy all night.
I am in Flint for school and for some reason I do not envy you...
Any one know if there is a way to get text updates as state results come in tonight?
In and out in 2 minutes.
Just like my sex life.
CNN just called it...11pm
That was my favorite part of the night.
Obama had around 200 votes and then at 10:59 CNN announced Virginia during their 1 minute countdown to the west coast polls closing. Every one knew Obama was getting CA, so it was really a countdown until they could legally declare Obama the winner.
3...2...1...OBAMA ELECTED PRESIDENT!!!
In all reality though, I called it at 8 when they announced PA went to Obama.
I used to be so excited about voting because the machines they used to have were the shit. Pulling the levers was fun. That was like fifth grade though when they rolled a machine into school and had us kids vote in a mock election. Not that I don't vote, but the lever-pulling fun has been sucked out of it.
YES WE CAN
Words can't describe how proud I am of our country tonight. I hugged a Buckeye I was so thrilled!
Gross. I'm moving to Texas.
This is probably the only time in history that Ohio and Michigan can together cheer "Go Blue!"
Did his buckstache tickle your ear?
