Looks like there will be no Datsyuk for game 3, but Draper will be ready, but may not play. Here is the link if you want to read for yourself.
OT Datsyuk and Draper Game 3
I was at the game last night and Draper was out skating during the pregame warm ups so it doesn't surprise me that he would be able to go on Tuesday. And even though we've done very well on face offs so far this series it would be a boost to get our best face off man and a strong penalty killer back.
Listen up you idiot. You read it. You did not hear it.

I love it when a veteran MGoBlogger just totally wastes a noob...
Big E can play on the second power play unit, or Stewie can jump in. Sammy is too much of a defensive liability, and I would play Drapes if he can go. Pav's got have a broken bone to be out this long, and I would not count on him until next October.
When is the last time Draper played? Anyone not named Datsyuk, can stay on the bench and let the young guys skate circles around Pitts 3rd and 4th line.
It seems more and more like Datsyuk has a broken foot. I really hope we have him back for Game 3 to offset Pittsburgh's having favorable match-ups due to last change.
What about this Abdelkader kid? Talk about coming out of nowhere and playing great hockey. Does anyone know anything about him? I know nothing. He should have played at Michigan, too.
$o a$ far a$ I'm concerned, the Wing$ won both game$ by a $core of 2-1. I would rather loo$e than give a $partan credit for $omething.

WolvinLA, here you go
Abdelkader really came out of now where this year. Played the whole season with the Grand Rapids Griffins (word on the street is Yzerman and Ken Holland where very impressed with his season, and were in attendance for many of the Griffins games). He was on the roster for last years playoffs but never saw the ice.
I played at the same high school as Justin (although he is 5 year younger than I) so here is his bio
Hometown: Muskegon, MI
High School: Played for Mona Shores High School (won Mr. Hockey as a Junior), spent senior year playing for the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders (USHL). I think Cedar Rapids won the USHL championship this year.
College: Michigan State, scored NCAA Championship game winning goal with :18 seconds left against Boston College (Named Tournaments outstanding player)
He was a second round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2005/6?
Gross, I didn't know he was a Sparty. But I suppose if an MSU kid does well in the NHL, it may as well be for the Wings.
But really, a Spartan doing well for a Detroit team? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this one.
and graduated with him and is really good friends with him. Just saying, it's my claim to fame
I went to high school with him as well. My brother played with him for a few years. Justin graduated two years before me. I am really good friends with his cousin. My family knows his pretty well.
I personally think Datsyuk has a broken rib. Might have been game 2, but video replay I saw shows him getting rubbed into the boards (grimace) and skating off the ice and has not been on the ice since. I have not seen a replay or noticed Pavel taking a shot in the foot.
In the NHL when they say it's a lower body injury, about 99.9% of the time it's a upper body injury and vice versa.
I think it's a rib because most other upper body injuries (seperated shoulder, etc) the players are back next game. But it's kind of hard to skate with a rib digging into your lungs!
I hope the DJ at Joe Louis doesn't make a habit of this but they were playing the Sparty fight song after Abdelkader scored.
I'd also agree with the proby owns you, I would bet that Datsyuk has a broken bone in his foot. Maybe I'm imagining things (or mixing this up with another player) but I thought I heard that he took a shot off the foot earlier in the playoffs then it was hit again during the Chicago series.
here's a link for you if you'd like to check into Red Wings prospects:
Just click the player and you'll get a lot of nice info on them. Very good site for Red Wings fans.
that I think about it, is there anything close to mgoblog for Wings fans? Shame if there isn't - google doesn't turn up much.
Really the only thing that draper brings to the team is leadership and faceoffs. Draper is basically the same player as Helm, but Helm is about 10 years younger. The only players that you could even think about taking out of the lineup for Draper are Maltby or Leino.
As for Datsyuk, I think he has a broken foot. If he could skate he would play, but its hard to skate when your foot is so swollen that it cant go into your boot. Sadly, I dont think we will see him again this post-season
