When I graduated from UM in 2007 and moved back to Colorado, I was sad that my 2 am drunk-stops at Backroom Pizza would be ending. I was sad that I'd miss out on Wynton Marsalis playing at Hill Auditorium on a semi-annual basis. I was sad that I couldn't make trips with friends up to their cabins for weekends. I wasn't sad that I'd be leaving the local-coverage-umbrella of Drew Sharp.
Of course, since LRH hates me, he commanded that Drew Sharp appear on the Denver sports radio station today. Why was he on? No reason, really. He sorta came on to talk about Sparty in the Final Four, he sorta came on to talk about Cutler-to-the-Lions rumors. He felt no need to stay on topic, however, so he rambled on about everything, including the GM proceedings. His worst line?
"Guys, there's not a rivalry more heated anywhere than Michigan-Michigan State. But even Michigan fans, if asked about Tom Izzo, will swallow real hard and say, 'we actually really like the guy and respect him a lot.'"
So many things wrong with that statement, I'll just leave it alone, like a retarded baby on the Spartan hillside, to die.
I know that Sharp-bashing is the OldNBusted out here in the intarwebz, but it amazes me how much national attention the man gets. It's bad enough that Michiganders have to suffer through his inconsistent, a-factual, faux-postured drivel. I don't see why he should appear anywhere else. My guess is that he mainly lives on the buddy-buddy relationships he's accrued with columnists around the nation. Just a bunch of dinosaurs watching each other's back...
